Julius Caesar unveils his latest plan to get rid of those indomitable Gauls once and for all. As his army has not been able to crush “the last pocket of resistance”, he decides to try a stealth invasion: civilization delivered to the village gates! He builds a new Rome-The Land of the Gods-around Asterix’s village, pressuring the Gauls to assimilate or vanish. Despite Asterix and Obelix’s plans to stop the construction work, the buildings quickly rise and the Roman citizens start to peacefully invade their surroundings, bringing chaos to Asterix’s village. Could this finally mean victory for Caesar?

Asterix: The Land of the Gods (aka Astérix: Le Domaine des Dieux) is set for theatrical release in France on November 26th, 2014.

Never heard of this either... If it's a comic though, why the over-used CGI/3D? What happened to the simple 2D? Peabody & Sherman should look like Charlie Brown. Not The Clone Wars.

See? Hagar is the only viking comic I know of, and it's hilarious.

The first thing I thought of looking at the picture is Blizzard's making a Lost Vikings movie. It makes sense seeing as there will be a Warcraft movie. Then I read it and was disappointed. I want Blizzard to do more with that IP. Plus Blackthorne. I never heard of this before so I have no idea what to expect. Hopefully it will be a good movie. Vikings are great so I welcome this news. This movie had better make sure it doesn't come out around how to Train you pet dragon 2 or it will be eaten alive.

Well, after read all the comments above, it's kinda suprising almost all never heard Asterix after they released 4 live action movies before and still not recognized it, I doubt you all know Tintin

I hope that this won't make the end of the Smurfs... antoher amazing european comic that ended being a stupid american cartoon with farts and new york in it...completely different from the original!

Asterix is one of my favourite comics, the 90's cartoons were good (maybe because they were literal adaptations of the comic books) i hope this will be awesome too!

Asterix were the first comics I've ever read (my parents read to me actually :P) and I still love him!! I have a pretty big collection of Asterix comics, in both Greek and French. I had an Asterix themed party when I turned 5 or 6, I don't remember.

Asterix is AWESOME! I grew up reading Asterix, all the books are gold....except the ones made after the writer died, the artist thought he could write it.....he can't.

It's the finest belgium/ french comics with Tintin. Every french or belgium youngster have read one of them ..it's a classic hère IN France. I prefer my Marvel or DC comics but there are classic too.ans Yes the Smurfs movies are not like the comics ( such a shame).

He's not a viking, he's a Gaul/French. His village is the last outpost that the romans and Julius ceaser Are trying to conquer but due to a magic potion their village druid makes they keep kicking the romans backsides. These books were awesome when I was growing up, highly recommended if you have young children.

Exactly what nikgrid said! As a kid, I loved reading Asterix, Smurfs, X-Men and Spider-Man comics.

@StarLord I'll report you to Rhomman Dey!! :P

My family is from France and Asterix is one of the many comics from Belgium of great quality with great humor.

The format is very different from North America though so I wouldn't be surprised if this doesn't resonate here

LOL

Our primary school library stocked Asterix and Tin Tin and they were the go to books when we had library period. Needless to say we were banned from using them for book reviews.

Would love to see what they do with the African characters like the pirate, those characters were quite ridiculous.

How the hell have people never heard of Asterix?!
