We've seen only a handful of animated TV shows receive their own movies over the years, with noteworthy examples including The Simpsons and South Park. Now, Bob's Burgers will join them as The Bob's Burgers Movie is officially set to arrive in U.S. theaters on May 27, later this year.

Today, the first trailer and poster have been released for the animated musical comedy-mystery-adventure based on the long-running Emmy-winning series.

The story begins when a ruptured water main creates an enormous sinkhole right in front of Bob's Burgers, blocking the entrance indefinitely and ruining the Belchers’ plans for a successful summer. While Bob and Linda struggle to keep the business afloat, the kids try to solve a mystery that could save their family's restaurant. As the dangers mount, these underdogs help each other find hope and fight to get back behind the counter, where they belong.

The Bob's Burgers Movie showcases voice talent which includes Kristen Schaal, H. Jon Benjamin, John Roberts, Dan Mintz, Eugene Mirman, Larry Murphy, Zach Galifianakis, Kevin Kline, and David Wain. The film's director is Bernard Derriman and its co-director is Loren Bouchard. The screenplay, meanwhile, was penned by the team of Loren Bouchard and Nora Smith.

I'm getting a lot of The Simpsons Movie vibes from this, I've been looking to this flick for a while now and it would be nice to see Bobs Burgers with an audience of fans for a change since I'm the only one in my family who watches the show!

Bob’s Burgers: the story of a mental abused and broken man being pushed around by his narcissistic, sociopathic family that quietly hates him and he them.

I never understood why people like this show

@campblood - What? Have you ever watched the show? I’m not even a huge fan, but the family dynamic is very sweet. They drive eachother crazy, but they always love eachother.

@PC04 - probably not , I admit I need professional help from a therapist but I stand by what I said. I mean look at the first episode. The kids go around making people they their dad will give them food poisoning or something.

@campblood - because it is one of the most brilliant comedies in the English language. It's a fantastic parody of family life with fun characters and a lot of heart

@Hulkh8liars - all I know is if that was my family my dad would have hit us for being troublemakers and not respecting him. I mean it literally, one time my brother called him an assh*le under his breath so my dad picked him up and threw him as a door. One time I said “I hate church” so he grabbed me by the tie and gave me one across the mouth. Back in the day we had to respect our parents and not walk all over them like bob’s little sh*theads do

@campblood - sounds like your dad kinda sucked. Bob's fictional kids are brats but your actual dad was crazy to hit a kid because they don't have fun learning his fictional stories. You were right to voice your opinion and your dad was disrespectful to strike a kid for voicing said opinoin

@Hulkh8liars - my dad was one of my best friends, just because he gave me and my brother a good smack once in a while doesn’t mean he sucked as a father , he worked two jobs to take care of us. Yes we had issues and stuff but it was 1980s-1990s New York City. Not some mollycoddled suburb where nobody struggled to feed their kids

@campblood - I grew up struggling. My grandma worked two jobs and I had to quit school at 12 to work full time to help feed us. I respect the struggle. But if acting like kids got ya slapped dude was too harsh.

The earlier seasons were solid but the newest ones feel watered down which led me to stop watching altogether.

I’ll give this a chance if the reviews are solid for it.
