Warner Bros. has revealed that the official title of the upcoming sequel to The LEGO Movie will be known as, The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part.

Phil Lord and Chris Miller's first film surprised everyone by being an absolute delight, and although the duo won't be returning to helm the follow-up (that'll be Mike Mitchell and Trisha Gum), they did pen the script and are still on board as exec producers.

We have no idea what the story will be this time around, but Chris Pratt (Emmett), Elizabeth Banks (Wyldstyle) and Will Arnett (Batman) are expected to reprise their roles, and Tiffany Haddish will be joining them.

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part is set to hit theaters early next year. Check out the poster below and let us know if you're looking forward to the sequel in the usual place.

It will be VERY HARD to live up to the first one.

The first made my top 5 of it's year. It was a great surprise. Without Lord and Miller and the director chair, it'll be hard to live up to it.

Dear WB,

Please make this happen, besides including DC characters in this movie, please include some Marvel characters. Not to boost sales, but because it would be awesome!!!!!

LEGO owns so many brands. I wish they would include some Disney owned characters, but they're not going to because studios don't know how to share anymore. The days of Who Framed Roger Rabbit are sadly over.

Pretty redundant title. It has "2" and "second" in the same title.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - To many "the"'s as well. The Lego Movie (2) sounds weird. Should just be Lego Movie 2 or Lego Movie II.

Deadpool 2 - Don't worry everyone, I know I'm DEEPLY unfunny so no Deadpool meme humor from me, I'll leave that to the professionals who seemed to have done another bang-up job as Deadpool 2 opened very well at #1 with $125M domestic. That makes it the second highest R-rated opening weekend behind the first Deadpool film. It was a rather interesting weekend as the film seemed poised to take the R-rated opening crown as it had the best opening day for an R-rated film with $53.3M far topping the $47.3M set by Deadpool and the former record holder IT with $50.4M. But Deadpool had a 10.2% drop on its Saturday and a 0.2% rise on Sunday while Deadpool 2 had a 24% drop Saturday and a 23% drop Sunday which meant by the end of the weekend it was playing second fiddle. At very least the incredible Sunday performance for Deadpool could be chalked up to that film being released on a holiday weekend but still the Saturday drop shows that Deadpool 2 just doesn't quite have the slight edge of excitement and newness that came with the original. All that is just fun discussion white noise because the film is doing insanely well, though remember Deadpool 2 carries a budget almost twice as big as Deadpool with $110M. Also remember that is insanely small in comparison with many superhero films, in fact the cheapest superhero film since Logan.

@Roodi

Haha not me...there’s a weekend box office update every Monday from an r/movies mod on reddit. He does a good job of breaking down new releases and following up with movies still playing.

It’s worth a look for sure.

I wish LEGO BATMAN and LEGO NINJAGO hadn’t diluted interest in this movie. Loved THE LEGO MOVIE, but, the other two films were not too far removed (storywise) from standard LEGO kiddie fare.
