The Spice Girls are about to spice up your life as it’s being reported that the popular girl band from the 1990s could lend their likenesses for an animated superhero-themed movie. According to Variety, the film project is currently being shopped to potential production partners.
The movie is said to work off the Spice Girls’ message of “girl power,” and each of the character’s will be voiced by a member of the group. In case you’ve forgotten, the Spice Girls are comprised of Victoria Beckham (“Posh Spice”), Melanie Brown (“Scary Spice”), Emma Bunton (“Baby Spice”), Melanie Chisholm (“Sporty Spice”) and Geri Halliwell (“Ginger Spice”). Each character will feature a “girl power” unique to that group member that will reflect each girl’s personality.
“The Spice Girls are thinking big in terms of a franchise on a global scale. They’re the most successful girl group on the planet,” a source told Variety.
“It’s just what Marvel or Disney needs.”
Yes, because Marvel is really struggling right now - you know, with
Captain Marvel and most likely
Black Widow getting their own movies and all. Not to mention the box office disappointment of
Black Panther and soon-to-be
Avengers: Infinity War. Marvel is
definitely in real need of more superheroes.
