Independent producers James Young, Ford Oelman and Mark Costa of Animus Films and NHO Entertainment recently filed suit in Los Angeles Superior Court against World Events, the owners of the rights to Voltron.

The producers claim that World Events secretly negotiated with other producers, while they were busy putting together financing and hiring writers for a Voltron feature film. The suit reads:

"World Events secretly conspired with Jason Netter and Kickstart Entertainment to find investors and make the movie without NHO and Animus during the terms of the exclusive deal."

The producers are suing for fraud, breach of contract and interference with contractual relations and are seeking various damages.

In response, a spokesperson for World Events said:

This lawsuit is frivolous and without merit, and we will defend ourselves vigorously...fortunately, these baseless claims do not in any way encumber the film or any other Voltron project, and we are excited to proceed on the long-awaited Voltron feature film with our partner Atlas."

Whoa! I hadn't realized editor's had line-item veto on comment postings!

I'd like to see a live action of both Vehicle Voltron created by Galaxy Garrison(or Alliance), as well as the Voltron Lions from the planet Arus from which the VV was made would be epic!

Loved the VOLTRON wolf version.

Would be great if they made a Star Blazer movie.

Trivia: What was the name of the big weapon they fired from the bow of the ship when all else failed ?

Voltron would work perhaps better then Transformers because it wouldn't be on earth. I can't wait to see the five lions tearing up the ground, it won't look like a junkyard coming to life that's for sure.

@ grif

there are many movies that are very out there. someone mentioned transformers. thats a good example. if a movie about giant sentient robots from another planet (and devastator was made up of 5 transformers, much like voltron) can be successful, then this can too. you might not like it, but it would be successful.

You heard right grif. Personally I hate that.

I agree with Assasin in that they could make it work just fine by removing the whole "grounded in Earth tech" element. Make the thing happen on Arus like it's bloody suposed to be
