It's been quite a while since we last saw Bo Peep, as Woody's love interest was oddly omitted from
Toy Story 3. She's finally back in
Toy Story 4, however, and it appears she'll be returning in much more than just a supporting role this time around.
After being away for more than 20 years, Bo Peep has sure changed quite a bit.
"Bo's got some 'tude now," teased actress Annie Potts in an interview with Good Morning America.
After
teasing Bo's highly anticipated return in
Toy Story 4 last month, Disney and Pixar have released a brand new clip from the movie. It's actually a flashback sequence which explains why she's wearing her signature dress instead of the updated outfit we've seen in recent teasers and posters.
In any case, watch as Bo and Woody lead "Operation Pull Toy" to rescue a familiar toy.
Toy Story 4 director Josh Cooley previously revealed that while Woody was with Andy, Bo took it upon herself
"to head out into the world" for her own adventure. What she learned on the road remains to be seen and while it looks like she will have changed quite a bit since we last saw her in Toy Story 4, it appears from this clip that Bo has been way more awesome and capable than the previous movies let on.
Toy Story 4 will seemingly just give her a proper chance to shine.
As a reminder, here's the synopsis for Toy Story 4, which includes an intriguing bit about Bo Peep's reunion with Woody.
Woody (Voice of Tom Hanks) has always been confident about his place in the world, & that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that's Andy or Bonnie. So when Bonnie's beloved new craft-project-turned-toy, Forky (Voice of Tony Hale), declares himself as "trash" & not a toy, Woody takes it upon himself to show Forky why he should embrace being a toy. But when Bonnie takes the whole gang on her family's road trip excursion, Woody ends up on an unexpected detour that includes a reunion with his long-lost friend Bo Peep ( Voice of Annie Potts). After years of being on her own, Bo's adventurous spirit & life on the road belie her porcelain exterior. As Woody & Bo realize they're worlds apart when it comes to life as a toy, they soon come to find that's the least of their worries.
Bo Peep returns to the big screen when
Toy Story 4 hits theaters on June 21, 2019.
Interestingly, Annie Potts was hesitant when asked about the series wrapping up with this movie.
"Well, who knows," she said, adding that she was even surprised when told about this one.
