THE GRAY MAN Star Ryan Gosling Transforms Into Margot Robbie's Ken In First Look Image From BARBIE

After releasing a first look at 2x Academy Award-nominee Margot Robbie (Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley QuinnThe Suicide Squad) as the titular heroine during CinemaCon earlier this year, Warner Bros. has now shared a new image of co-star and fellow 2x Academy Award-nominee Ryan Gosling (The Gray Man; Blade Runner 2049) as Ken in Greta Gerwig's Barbie

Plot details remain under wraps, but the film is said to feature multiple versions of Barbie and Ken, which should result in plenty of fun scenarios, especially with Gerwig (Lady Bird; Little Women) at the helm and also penning the script alongside longtime partner Noah Baumbach (Marriage StoryWhite Noise).

The supporting cast features America Ferrera, Simu Liu, Kate McKinnon, Ariana Greenblatt, Alexandra Shipp, Emma Mackey, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Issa Rae, Michael Cera, Rhea Perlman, Will Ferrell, Ncuti Gatwa, Emerald Fennell, Hari Nef, Sharon Rooney, Scott Evans, Ana Cruz Kayne, Connor Swindells, Ritu Arya, and Jamie Demetriou.

Robbie has one of the more exciting upcoming lineups in recent memory, as in addition to Barbie in 2023, she'll be seen in David O. Russell's Amsterdam and Damien Chazelle's Babylon later this year, and is also currently filming Wes Anderson's Asteroid City, which should be due out sometime next year.

Meanwhile, Gosling returns after a four-year hiatus this summer with Netflix's hotly-awaited actioner The Gray Man, which was helmed by The Russo Brothers and co-stars Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, and Dhanush, amongst others.

Barbie hits theaters on July 21, 2023.

@grif - Its Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig. They have a lot of prestige and oscar buzz so I think its natural for Ryan Gosling to be attracted to this project just to work with them both.

Ryan Gosling has turned down bigger paychecks in the past from your Marvels/DCs so him being involved in this project seems more natural than a cash grab. Barbie and Wonka sound really interesting just due to the creatives behind the camera.
