Attack on Titan is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama. The series began in September 2009. The story of Attack on Titan takes place in a world where the remnants of humanity live inside a series of connected cities, isolated by enormous walls. These walls exists to keep the Titans out, gigantic humanoid creatures who devour humans seemingly without reason. These Titans have reduced the world's population to staggeringly low numbers. The 3 main protagonists of Isayama's manga are Eren Jaeger, his adoptive sister Mikasa Ackerman, and their friend Armin Arlert. Their lives are changed forever when a "Colossal Titan" breaches the wall protecting their town, leading to thee death of Eren's mother. Vowing revenge and to reclaim the world from the Titans, Eren, Mikasa and Armin join the Survey Corps, an elite group of soldiers who fight Titans outside the walls.

@CaptainAmerica31

That's not very tolerant of Captain America to say lol.

In all seriousness, I don't get it either but I'm glad there's a large group of people who do.

Personally I really didn't like this part of Attack on Titan. The series started out so strong and then around after they defeat the Female Titan the series begins to decline. The part of the series this will cover goes more into the corruption of the nobles and royalty and personally it gets boring and kind of drags along.

Hopefully they don't have a lot of filler for this season. While the first season didn't have that much, the time it did was an absolute bore!

I used to love anime but the older the got the less interest I had for it. Binge watched AoT and didn't get it either -- It had some really got story elements and ideas but it went all over the place. Instead of having giant robots to pilot, the main hero can turn into a giant human aka titan hybrid... come on. Also, i know most anime properties are super over the top when it comes to dialogue and drama but this one is easily the king in those departments.

Someone mentioned this all ready, I would love to see this story get adapted into a live-action production. I know one is currently in production but kinda looks like they are staying really close to the source material.

It's important to realize that "anime" can mean a whole damn lot of different things, just like "comics" or "movies".

The first is a weird and fun anime I like a lot, the other one is probably my favourite anime to date. Besides being Japanese animation they couldn't be much more different.

@pesmerga44 ikr. maybe that's why it will take them until 2016 for season 2 to shorten the boring corruption parts and catch with all the revelations in the manga last month.

To everybody that hate's on anime... The majority of animes are (unfortunaly) a lot better then todays animated shows from DC and Marvel... The only good animated stuff from Marvel and DC are from their movies
