While it is admittedly a little baffling that the first live-action Pokemon movie we're getting is based on Detective Pikachu, Legendary Entertainment has so far assembled one hell of a cast. Ryan Reynolds is going to voice the titular character, while he'll be joined by Justice Smith (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom), Kathryn Newton (Big Little Lies), and Ken Watanabe (Godzilla) in the impressive ensemble.
Now, singer and actress Rita Ora (Fifty Shades Freed) has joined the cast in an undisclosed role. That's been the case with pretty much ever casting addition, so she could be a human or a Pokemon!
Rob Letterman is currently shooting the movie and we'll presumably start seeing some official material from it soon. It's still very early days, though, so it might be best not to get too excited about that coming quite yet (Comic-Con is a strong possibility but a lot of VFX work will need to be done on Detective Pikachu before he's ready for the world to see). What do you guys think of this addition?
