Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green released on February 27th, 1996 - a full 24 years ago today. Each year on the anniversary of the release date fans worldwide celebrate on what is known as Pokémon Day. Festivities take place everywhere pocket monsters are known and video games such as Pokémon Go, Pokémon Sword, and Pokémon Shield take advantage of this time to throw festivities and add new features into their games.

Although it has been many years since the games first came out the franchise has only grown more successful over time. In fact, recently the Guinness Book of World Records title for Most Expensive Pokémon Trading Card (At Auction) sold for a massive $195,000. The record now belongs to the talented Pikachu Illustrator. Focusing on some other world records that are held by Pokémon, we take a look at what else we didn't know about the expansive Pokédex.
