Okay, they have, in fact, improved the anime character design since the original trailer. Which is good, because I hated that original design SO MUCH. So...FREAKING...MUCH! Maybe even more than cat-face Beast.

that was bloody awesome!
3 and a half minutes and is already better than X-men Origins :P
that's something you don't see in most of X-men cartoons: Wolverine using his claws TO KILL SOMEONE (in a very graphic way) instead of just using them to DESTROY SOMETHING (robots, etc)

Like it seems cool. I'm not the biggest fan of anime but I would check this out a little more. just to come wit a better conclusion. if any of you guys seen the x-men anime on youtube. THAT looks amazing! Like I want to see something like that and a serious batman series on late night. I want to hear swearing, I want to see wolvie smoking his cigs and drinking. I want a grown up cartoon superhero series.

Thoughts?

Anime has always been able to push boundaries that we don't get in conventional North American cartoons. Can't wait to watch it dubbed in English!

this series was way better than i thought it was gonna be! some characters showed up that caught me off guard and were a very pleasant surprise. X-Men just started and i'm already hooked after 1 ep and it's cuz they did a good job with wolvie. lookin forward to seeing all this stuff in eng dub.

See! why can't they have him do that stuff in a movie, diving off buildings , being a no fear crash through windows, balls to the wall kinda kinda

WOLVERINE SHOULD FALL FASTER, HIS BONES ARE COATED WITH ADAMANTIUM

Weight doesn't matter. Drop a pencil and a rock, both will hit at the same time. The only factor would be if there were some sort of wind resistance, causing a parachute effect....
SciFiNut
SciFiNut - 4/7/2011, 10:07 AM
Yes, lets argue the physics considering a man COATED IN ADAMANTIUM. Crazies.

This looks pretty good. I was sold as soon as I saw the beercan labeled CANADA GOLD. Very nice.

Logan looks like an androgyne teenager, that's the exact opposite of what the whole character is supposed to be. Me no like :P

Fair point, @SciFi... :p

this series looks awful.

Are Marvel trying to get Japanese fans by tricking them into thinking a character is something they aren't? lol
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 4/7/2011, 10:22 AM
@ getupkid

objects only fall at the same speed in a vacuum. with wind resistance, all objects fall at different speeds. Go drop a feather and a rock off a building and watch which one hits faster...

i know you said that already, but if you're outside a vacuum, there is always some form of wind resistance, so no, the pencil and rock would not hit at the exact same time. So yes, weight does matter. The heavier the object, the less effect the wind will have on it.

getupkid - 4/7/2011, 10:31 AM
Damnit, somebody find me a stuntman... and another stuntman with a crapload of adimantium in his pockets... I'm throwin them both off a building, and we're settlin this right now!

Part of what makes Wolverine interesting in the comics is that he's a man of small stature, albeit muscular and intimidating. Hell, it's even implied in his name: Wolverine. I would argue that the physical characteristics of a character (at least in the comics) is just as important as their personality.
I was never a fan of Hugh Jackman's casting as Logan, but movies will be movies, and it's such a shame that even in other animated versions they are portraying him as tall and thin, instead of short and stocky.
Such a waste of a great opportunity here...
MassExecutions
MassExecutions - 4/7/2011, 10:53 AM
@CorndogBurglar - Actually, that's still not QUITE right. If you dropped an cube of led that weighed 5 pounds and a really thin sheet of led that weighed 10 pounds the cube would drop faster. It's not weight that determines wind resistance, its shape.
gambgel
gambgel - 4/7/2011, 11:14 AM
so this is a young Logan, right?

how old could he be here?... 28?, 30?
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 4/7/2011, 11:38 AM
@ mass

you're right about shape, but the weight still effects it outside of a vacuum.

Is this Logan when he went to Japan in his 30s or when he went to Japan for Mariko and all that?

MassExecutions
MassExecutions - 4/7/2011, 2:18 PM
@CorndogBurglar - Yes, your right. A cube of led has more energy to push the air molecules out of the way with than a cube of say, Styrofoam. Wait...do we actually mean mass?

IS THERE A PHYSICIST IN THE HOUSE?!?

WHO wanted this????This is garbage, i mean, for real, why the hell does wolverine have an anime? what, is the american audience unable to take violence. Wovlerine, and all the other marvel characters weren't created for anime, if you like this, but hate orgins, then you must be a hipocrite....

@screenwriter614 I agree with you, I hate how America dulls down the violence and sexuality in almost all their animated series to suit a target audience of children. for once I would like to see Wolverine actually USE HIS CLAWS in an American Animated series.

I literally never like anime, but this clip is epic. Awesome how they're apparently adding more graphic violence than previous animated incarnations.

When I see this I don't think Wolverine, I think some skinny Japanese guy with claws.

He looks like he just walked out of an AFI or Fall Out Boy concert. Emorine.
