ANT-MAN & THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA Image Gives Us A New Look At Jonathan Majors As Kang

Empire Magazine has debuted a new promo still for Marvel Studios' Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, giving us another look at Jonathan Majors as the villainous Kang the Conqueror.

We first met a Variant of Jonathan Majors' Kang in the season finale of Loki, but the interpretation of the powerful villain that'll be introduced to audiences in the upcoming Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania will be a very different beast to He Who Remains.

While speaking to Empire Magazine for their latest issue, director Peyton Reed addressed the return (well, debut) of what he describes as an "all-time antagonist" for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“Kang The Conqueror in our movie is a very different character,” he teases. “He’s someone who has dominion over time, and he’s a warrior and a strategist. That’s interesting to me: to take the tiniest, and in some people’s minds weakest, Avenger, and put them up against this absolute force of nature.”

As for what kind of ramifications Kang's arrival will have for the MCU going forward, well, the fact that his name is in the title of the next Avengers movie should really tell you all you need to know!

“I think it has a profound impact on the MCU,” Reed adds. “Jeff Loveness, who wrote this movie, is writing The Kang Dynasty as well, so there’s been a lot of discussion about the impact that this appearance of Kang The Conqueror makes. There are big things in store.”

Check out a new image of Majors as Kang alongside Paul Rudd as Scott Lang below.

In Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, Super-Hero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought was possible.

Jonathan Majors joins the adventure as Kang. Director Peyton Reed returns to direct the film; Kevin Feige and Stephen Broussard produce.

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is set to be released in theaters on February 17, 2023.
