Another Look At The Original 'Wasp' In More ANT-MAN Concept Art

The winged superheroine's screen time was limited to a short and sweet flashback scene in Marvel's Ant-Man earlier this year, but hit the jump and check out another early costume design for Janet Van Dyne, the original Wasp, by way of the fantastic artist Andy Park.

The original Ant-Man, Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), working alongside the original Wasp, his wife Janet Van Dyne, was one of the coolest moments in this year's cinematic debut of Marvel's pint-sized superhero. And while Ant-Man ended with Hope Van Dyne taking up her late mother's mantle as the Wasp, the Peyton Reed-directed movie also suggested that we could see her predecessor alive and taking flight again in a potential sequel. In the meantime, another initial costume design for the original winged superheroine has been revealed by Andy Park, so check it out below!

Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world. Directed by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man stars Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Corey Stoll, Evangeline Lilly, David Dastmalchian, Michael Pena, Bobby Cannavale, Abby Ryder Fortson, Judy Greer, Wood Harris John Slattery and Gregg Turkington with multi-hyphenate T.I., and the film opens July 17, 2015

Ant-Man should've built his suit to fly as well. Easier than riding on flying ants.

The story of Wasp's death would have made a much better Ant-Man film than the one we got.

I know they wanted Ant-Man and Wasp to color coordinate, but she should be in yellow, not red.

Lose the helmet and gauntlets and put that on Scarlet Witch.

RexDartEskimoSpy You are thinking about the ultimate's version of wasp, the concept art above is in reference to the original 616 version. It makes sense to me that Hank would make Janet's suit akin to his. And Scarlet Witch is pretty much wearing the same outfit by the end of Avengers 2.

@TheAmbassador You have to give @Gusto some credit though for sticking to his guns and his city though given that Detroit has seen better days.

Great concept art Antman was a great film. And Wasp was very cool. It would be cool to see Janet Pym in a sequel. And I hope Antman 2 happens

I truly wonder what Burgess Meredith would have really thought of Miley. She was most likely the chicken that Stallone caught in Rocky.

@DurtyTalynt you cant really blame the actors and actresses. They are thrust into the spotlight at an early age in their lives and then people freak out when the real side of them comes out. Everyone expects them to lead their lives as peppy and cheerful as their on screen personas but it is far from the truth.
