ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA - See Even More Of The Action In Epic IMAX Trailer

IMAX has released its version of the new Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania trailer, and as promised, we get to see 26% more of the picture (which, sadly, doesn't include any new footage from the movie).

In recent years, IMAX has made a point of touting the fact that, if you watch a new release on their super-sized screens, you can look forward to seeing 26% more of the picture. While that's not necessarily a draw for regular moviegoers, it's a huge deal for film buffs and makes a surprisingly big difference.

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania will, of course, be released in this format and the company has now shared an IMAX version of the latest trailer (we'll update with a YouTube embed as soon as one becomes available).

While we don't get any new footage, we definitely see more of what's playing out on screen, with those Quantum Realm scenes definitely popping now they're no longer contained within the traditional 16:9 ratio. M.O.D.O.K. definitely benefits as we see more of the weapons the former Yellowjacket will be packing when he's reunited with Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne.

Disney+ has a deal with IMAX for movies like this to be released on the streaming platform in 1.90:1, so even if you don't have one of these screens in your area, you'll eventually be able to watch the larger-than-life action in all its glory.

Check out the IMAX trailer for Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania below.

In Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, Super-Hero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Together, with Hope’s parents Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and Scott’s daughter Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought possible.

Directed by Peyton Reed, the threequel also stars Jonathan Majors as Kang, David Dastmalchian as Veb, Katy O'Brian as Jentorra, William Jackson Harper as Quaz, and Bill Murray as Lord Krylar.

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is set to be released in theaters on February 17.

The film looks incredible and looks to have major implications for the MCU.

Gonna be awesome 💪🤝💯

@AmazingFILMporg - Never though in a million years that an ANT-MAN MOVIE would have major ramifications on a whole universe.

@AmazingFILMporg - Yeah, it's funny how I care and sympathize more with Scott Lang than I do with Phase 4 Thor.

I still care about Thor quite a bit even though I didn't like love and thunder

@AmazingFILMporg - Thor was done really well up to LaT. A lot of depth and emotion to his character that was properly built up over time.

I really still do love him as a character, I just hope he gets his groove back sooner rather than later.

@FilmGuy7878 - The issue with Thor was that in each of his appearance he experienced some sort of loss and the movies didn't allow him to cope with it. They rushed him into the next battle. I felt like Love and Thunder needed to be what Black Panther 2 was for Shuri. It needed to have Thor fully experience grief and finally acceptance. Taika knows how to nail serious beats which is bizarre to me he opted for full on comedy at almost all times. The opening sequence with Gorr was so tragic and well done and yet he opted to go the comedic route the entire movie after that scene.

@SonOfAGif - Good points all around man. Hopefully Thor 4 finally gives him a chance to come full circle with his grief and with a different director. Maybe Sam Hargrave? He directed Extraction so he's already on good terms with Hemsworth, he's already adapted a graphic novel (Atomic Blonde), and he can give us some super kick ass fight scenes as well as hitting those emotional beats.

@FilmGuy7878 - Wait I stand corrected, he was the stunt coordinator for Atomic Blonde, not the director.

@McMurdo - He started out fine imo, Ragnarök had inklings of what killed his characterization, Infinity War made him better, Endgame worsened his characterization, and then LaT threw everything out the window.

Really excited for this. Maybe because the Ant-Man films are are so character focused (particularly the first one). I think I care more about the Lang-Pym family than nearly any other Avenger. Hawkeyes up there.

I also like Kang from the Busiek days. So bring it on.

@TheManWithoutFear - yeah same. Hope I can get the same with the Fantastic Four, even if this already looks like the FF movie I wanna see (family that goes on a crazy trip through the cosmos)
TheManWithoutFear
TheManWithoutFear - 1/11/2023, 3:48 PM
@bkmeijer1 - to me, so much of getting the FF right is about Ben and Reed. Mostly Ben actually. You start with Ben and that informs Reed. Which then leads to Sue and Johnny.

Now that you mention it, Quantumania does look kind of like a FF story. Trip into another dimension, meeting the evil overlord. The overlord in tvis case ends up being a time displaced relative. I never thought of that.
McMurdo
McMurdo - 1/11/2023, 4:59 PM
@TheManWithoutFear - it feels like an old school Hank and Janet 60s Sci fi film in a lot of ways. It looks like a straight up comic out of that time period for me

It doesn't hurt to have Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfifer either and Jonathan Majors just chews up every scene he's in.
bkmeijer1
bkmeijer1 - 1/11/2023, 5:51 PM
@TheManWithoutFear - agreed. Ben should be the core at the end of the day.

As for Quantumania being an FF movie of sorts, I realized that when somebody brought up Reed as FF director. That's when I thought: if that were the case, I hope he makes it like the movie Quantumania appears to be. And then I realized Reed this is the FF movie Reed probably already wanted to make.
