In recent years, IMAX has made a point of touting the fact that, if you watch a new release on their super-sized screens, you can look forward to seeing 26% more of the picture. While that's not necessarily a draw for regular moviegoers, it's a huge deal for film buffs and makes a surprisingly big difference.
Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania will, of course, be released in this format and the company has now shared an IMAX version of the latest trailer (we'll update with a YouTube embed as soon as one becomes available).
While we don't get any new footage, we definitely see more of what's playing out on screen, with those Quantum Realm scenes definitely popping now they're no longer contained within the traditional 16:9 ratio. M.O.D.O.K. definitely benefits as we see more of the weapons the former Yellowjacket will be packing when he's reunited with Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne.
Disney+ has a deal with IMAX for movies like this to be released on the streaming platform in 1.90:1, so even if you don't have one of these screens in your area, you'll eventually be able to watch the larger-than-life action in all its glory.
Check out the IMAX trailer for Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania below.
In Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, Super-Hero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp.
Together, with Hope’s parents Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and Scott’s daughter Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought possible.
Directed by Peyton Reed, the threequel also stars Jonathan Majors as Kang, David Dastmalchian as Veb, Katy O'Brian as Jentorra, William Jackson Harper as Quaz, and Bill Murray as Lord Krylar.
Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is set to be released in theaters on February 17.
