ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA Set Photos Show Paul Rudd Filming Some Very Last-Minute Reshoots

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is weeks away from arriving in theaters, but some last-minute reshoots are taking place and Scott Lang actor Paul Rudd has been spotted redoing a scene from the trailer.

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania arrives in theaters on February 17, but with just over a month to go, reshoots are currently taking place in Los Angeles.

This is last-minute even for Marvel Studios, but it doesn't appear to be anything major; instead, Scott Lang actor Paul Rudd has seemingly been enlisted for some pretty straightforward pick-up shots to ensure the threequel is as great as it possibly can be.

There may be more going on that we don't know about, though there's no reason to believe this is anything to be concerned about. It's also not a particularly important-looking moment, and clearly not a surprise post-credits scene or anything along those lines.

How do we know?

Well, on closer inspection, Rudd is shooting scenes we've already seen in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania's trailers. Pictured outside Bridge Donuts, the shop spotted in that sneak peek, the actor is decked out in the same clothes but is now carrying a pink and blue box that appears to have something to do with his former employers, Baskin-Robbins.

With that in mind, this is likely just a new gag rather than a game-changing ice cream-related reveal! We'll definitely be keeping a closer eye on this scene in the movie than we otherwise might have, anyway.

Check out the set photos below.

In Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, Super-Hero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Together, with Hope’s parents Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought was possible.

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is set to be released in theaters on February 17, 2023.

Maybe it is the last scene of the movie, recreating the opening scene but in a new reality. That would be a big cliffhanger, ala Loki.

@Turogalh - wasn't Scott rumoured to be trapped in the QR again? Maybe this is some dream-like Realm Kang has imprisoned him at the end

Every time i see a candid of Rudd, I hear the most charming music as the soundtrack playing to his life.

@TheVandalore - If anyone remembers that montage from Raimi's Spider-Man 2 when Peter is just enjoying life without his powers, that's what I imagine Rudd's life being on a daily basis.

Y'know, Quantum physicists theorize that the entire universe is a donut, so Bridge Donuts makes a lot of sense.
They are bridging between donuts (universes) as we dive deeper into the Multidonut Saga.

And Baskin Robbins got a lot of worldwide promotional appeal from appearing in the first Ant-Man, so it makes sense that they would want some more exposure here, too.

(not sure if ice cream has any metaphysical subtext, but I admittedly haven't seen the movie yet, so who knows, right?)

@ObserverIO - So then maybe he's carrying a box full of donut-sized quantum universes which means... OMG Scott Lang WILL BE the new Herald of Galactus! I mean, it makes sense because I always thought that Scott's former boss looked a lot more like a quantum physics geek than a fast food restaurant manager (and I worked at an A&W in high school so I should know). If that's truly the case then that means that BR is really just a front for some super advanced tech company developing quantum physics in preparation for the coming of Galactus (which would make sense because, really, who really goes to BR these days? I think that the last time I was at one was in a mall and I was like 8). And... wait for it... it's all starting to come together now... that company could be... A.I.M.! Which ties into M.O.D.O.K.!! Meaning this will all tie into the new F4 movie!!!! Oh, dear God, it's all so clear now, just based off those 2 photos I think I've figured it out. Time to get my John Nash conspiracy wall set up. "Honey get me the thumb tacks and yarn, I have work to do!... Well then drive over to Hobby Lobby and get some frickin' yarn! Well then if Hobby Lobby is closed on Sundays go to Michael's, I don't care, just go! Kids, get the step stool and the index cards, we have work to do!"

Ah, I just love Sunday family time 😊.

@StSteven - I'm pretty sure Mephisto should be in there somewhere, but there's so many tacks in that one you barely see the word 'Mephisto' anymore.
StSteven
StSteven - 1/8/2023, 3:35 PM
@ObserverIO - Well, now that you mention it, my youngest keeps pointing at the Nash wall and saying "My-fiss-o" which could mean that she just wants some Goldfish OR that Mephisto fits in there somewhere. I'm going to go with the latter. So lemme se here... digging through the MCU archives... Got it! What if the version of Extremis that we saw in IM3 was actually Mephisto imbuing people with demon-like powers (remember they did get REALLY hot and explode and have like hellfire inside them), and with Aldrich Killian being the head of A.I.M. BAM! there you go. So Killian was really Mehpisto all along! Makes perfect sense.

Wait, did I say "hellfire"? OMG I think I just cracked how they're going to introduce Ghost Rider into the MCU. "Kids, more tacks! Now!!!"

Soooo no one thinks this couldn’t just be a tie-in commercial being filmed for Baskin Robbins? What tells us it’s definitively part of the movie?

The Marvel projects I'm hyped for atm, Ant-Man and Secret Invasion.

@TheManWithoutFear - I rewatch the Secret Invasion trailer from time to time because it's so damn epic. And as much as I enjoy Marvel humor, I also need that gritty, threatening, ominous shit, too. And damn does that SI trailer bring it. Cannot wait for that one.

@NoAssemblyReqd - Baskin Robbins was founded by a Kang variant.
WarMonkey

I have zero hype for this. Ant-man's powers is growing small or big. In this movie he'll just be super tiny in a super tiny world so basically it's just Paul Rudd without superpowers in cosplay hanging out with tennis balls and green-screens it feels like. Not sure what the hook is for this besides "hey it's another Marvel movie but with a nonathletic kid hero so consume it!" which doesn't work for me anymore after the quality of last Phase. Plus I saw Kang in Loki and he was so freaking goofy and uninteresting I'm not interested in more of that character or actor, and I know it's a variant in this movie but it's as if they introduced a goofy-ass Thanos right before IW instead of building him up with hype and intrigue.

I'll wait for word-of-mouth before making a decision if this is worth the time to watch or not. I feel like Marvel has reached CW levels like right after Infinite Crisis where most of us dropped the shows due to lack of quality writing and intro of uninteresting characters in it. I want to like it and be hyped for it but Disney has just made the MCU so bland and boring now.

@whatevtrev - Spider-Man:No Way Home and Doctor Strange And The MultiVerse Of Madness was the last time Marvel got me excited.

Everything else since then I prepare to be disappointed.

It's Paul Rudd, so he probably looks even younger than when they filmed it the first time. If he and Tom Cruise ever had a baby, that thing would live two lifetimes.
