A new still from Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania offers a first look at William Jackson Harper as Quaz, but are fan theories that this character is, in fact, Quasar correct? Find out what we know here...

William Jackson Harper's star is on the rise, and there's a lot of intrigue surrounding what role he'll play in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania.

All we know about his character is that he's called "Quaz," and a first look at one of the more mysterious additions to this threequel has been revealed by Empire Online. The site confirms he's a telepath, and that he's pictured with Katy M. O'Brian freedom fighter Jentorra in this image. It's safe to assume he's also part of that group then but is "Quaz" actually Quasar?

If so, this is a vastly different take on the hero because Wendell Vaughn was a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who gained extraordinary cosmic powers (telepathy wasn't among them).

The comic book version of the hero was a being of pure quantum energy, and can shape his "body" into any form he can imagine. It's possible Harper is the MCU's Quasar, though we'd bet on him being just another inhabitant of the Quantum Realm who Scott Lang and company cross paths with.

Let's not get our hopes up and make this another Mephisto, eh? Then again, his costumes colour scheme does look a little like Quasar...

You can take a closer look at Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania's "Quaz" below!

In Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, Super-Hero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Together, with Hope’s parents Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and Scott’s daughter Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought possible.

Directed by Peyton Reed, the threequel also stars Jonathan Majors as Kang, David Dastmalchian as Veb, Katy O'Brian as Jentorra, William Jackson Harper as Quaz, and Bill Murray as Lord Krylar.

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is set to be released in theaters on February 17.

"It's safe to assume he's also part of that group then but is "Quaz" actually Quasar?" Guy has different powers, different background, different look (not referring to race here) and different name. So no, it's not safe to assume that Josh.

Shoehorn.

Don't be Eternals & introduce way too many characters than people can keep track of.

@Frshcoupe - although I can't really find a source on that, it wouldn't surprise me if they start shooting this year. My guess we'll see the movie itself in July 2025 though

@bkmeijer1 - Considering Homecoming was released in 2017, Far From Home in 2019, and No Way Home in 2021, I would assume Sony is very eager to get a new film rolling promptly. So a Spidey film in Phase 6 seems likely, placing it in either late 2024 or in I'd say early 2025, assuming it comes out before The Kang Dynasty.

@MosquitoFarmer - think the schedule up to Kang Dynasty is jam packed, so I really doubt we'll see it before that.

Sony might be the one that releases it, but Marvel Studios still provides oversight. And with 8 movies and 12 shows, I think they're busy enough

@bkmeijer1 - Yeah but they still had some unannounced slots in their lineup. But who knows. Depends what they want to do with the character next I suppose.

@MosquitoFarmer - wait, what unnounced slots? The first one I can think of is that July 2025 slot. It's right after Kang Dynasty, so Spider-Man could ride that wave nicely.

Anyway, kinda hope Spider-Man shows up in Daredevil in the meantime.

@Frshcoupe - I doubt it. If that were the case, we would be hearing legit leaks by now.

@bkmeijer1 - Oh whoops, I forgot that some of the dates were pushed back. But supposedly there's still a late July in 2025, an early November, and then a February slot in 2026.

@MosquitoFarmer - yeah, and I wouldn't be surprised if some shows are gonna be delayed as well. 12 in two years is insane.

Anyway, my guess is we'll see Spider-Man in July 2025, Armor Wars in November 2025, and Shang-Chi 2 or Doctor Strange 3 in February 2026 (leaning towards the former, since that's when Chinese New Year starts).

@bkmeijer1 - Yeah, plus it’s rumored that Shang-Chi’s rings, as well as Ms. Marvel’s bangles tie into Kang and his conquest, I would expect Shang-Chi 2. Don’t think they’ll force Eternals 2, given the response to that film. I would sooner expect them to show up the Avengers films before we get a proper sequel.

@MosquitoFarmer - only reason they might do another Eternals is because I expect it to be important to MCU-lore. Eternals symbols could be seen on one of Kang's structures in an Ant-Man trailer

In the comics he wasn't a being of pure quantum energy that could shape his body anyway he wanted. He had the quantum bands that can project quantum energy in the form of devastating beams of force or heat. Vaughn more commonly employs them to fashion incredibly durable constructs of solid energy, such as containment spheres or pincers. He protects himself with a personal force field of quantum energy. I dont know where Wiki fanbase for marvel.got their info from, but thats way off.

Nothing about that says Quasar. So it would be a surprise.

@TheManWithoutFear - LOL I thought the same thing. Aside from his name being "Quaz" which kind of sounds like the beginning of Quasar. And Quasar uses the Quantum Bands. And this movie is in the Quantum Realm.

But I don't know. He doesn't look like Quasar and it doesn't sound like he has the same powers. But different powers never stopped them before either.

So who knows.
