William Jackson Harper's star is on the rise, and there's a lot of intrigue surrounding what role he'll play in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania.
All we know about his character is that he's called "Quaz," and a first look at one of the more mysterious additions to this threequel has been revealed by Empire Online. The site confirms he's a telepath, and that he's pictured with Katy M. O'Brian freedom fighter Jentorra in this image. It's safe to assume he's also part of that group then but is "Quaz" actually Quasar?
If so, this is a vastly different take on the hero because Wendell Vaughn was a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who gained extraordinary cosmic powers (telepathy wasn't among them).
The comic book version of the hero was a being of pure quantum energy, and can shape his "body" into any form he can imagine. It's possible Harper is the MCU's Quasar, though we'd bet on him being just another inhabitant of the Quantum Realm who Scott Lang and company cross paths with.
Let's not get our hopes up and make this another Mephisto, eh? Then again, his costumes colour scheme does look a little like Quasar...
You can take a closer look at Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania's "Quaz" below!
In Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, Super-Hero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp.
Together, with Hope’s parents Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and Scott’s daughter Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought possible.
Directed by Peyton Reed, the threequel also stars Jonathan Majors as Kang, David Dastmalchian as Veb, Katy O'Brian as Jentorra, William Jackson Harper as Quaz, and Bill Murray as Lord Krylar.
Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is set to be released in theaters on February 17.
