Marvel Studios Has Reportedly Subpoenaed Reddit To Get To The Bottom of ANT-MAN 3 Plot Leak

Marvel Studios has had it with spoilers! The popular r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers subreddit has officially closed up shop, as Disney/Marvel issues a subpoena demanding to know who leaked the Ant-Man 3 script.

It looks like Marvel Studios has finally decided to crack down on internet leaks!

Kevin Feige and co. have always had a strict policy when it comes to spoilers, but we have seen accurate details find their way online several times over the past few years, and most of that info tended to originate on the r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers subreddit.

Now, we're hearing that Disney/Marvel has filed legal documents seeking a subpoena in an attempt to identify the individual who leaked the script of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Disney filed a copyright take-down of the leak earlier this month after the 63-page document was shared by u/MSSmods in a post titled "[TFTMQ] Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Detailed Dialog." The thread has since been deleted, but it was archived in Google Docs.

"Reddit is committed to protecting our users' privacy," Reddit wrote in a statement responding to Marvel's application. "We have rigorous processes in place to assess legal requests and object when appropriate."

The subreddit in question had become massively popular, and while not everything that found its way on there proved to be on the level, someone was clearly sharing insider info relating to certain MCU movies/TV shows.

What do you guys make of this development? Did you frequent the r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers subreddit? Drop us a comment down below.

@dracula

If they did it earlier more eyes would be drawn to the leak. Probably didn’t want that to happen, it’s not like that subreddit has a huge following.

@regularmovieguy - But this isn't the first time this has happened. The entire plot of End Game leaked almost an entire month ahead of its release. It's happened with other movies too.

@Taonrey @CorndogBurglar - There is a difference between having a (translated) version of the entire script shared by the MODs of a forum and a very broad summary leaked by an external source being posted on it.

So Disney will recoup their losses on Antman by suing someone… not sure if that is genius or not

@Knightrider - how delusional are you that they correlate?

Mrnorth1921 - 3/13/2023, 11:29 PM
@Knightrider - no. They want to figure out who is leaking stuff. They probably found out whomever leaked the script is leaking other stuff. Prob who is playing who and the plots of their coming movies.

@Knightrider - this makes zero sense.

@Mrnorth1921 - my guess is they got a hunch on who's the leaker with this ant-man dialogue, perhaps.

@Fogs - they want proof. I am assuming for them to sue reddit. Must be a big guy or someone from a big Movie company.
