POLL: What Is Your Most Anticipated Superhero Movie Being Released In 2023?

2023 is a stacked year for superhero movies, with multiple visits to the MCU, DCEU, and Spider-Verse planned. The question we want you guys to answer, however, is which of them you're most excited for!

By JoshWilding - Dec 31, 2022 07:12 AM EST

2022 was something of a mixed back for superhero movies, with highly anticipated titles like Thor: Love and Thunder and Black Adam failing to live up to fan expectations.

Next year looks set to be a busy one, though, and you'd best believe we'll be keeping you up-to-date with the latest breaking news, rumours, and reveals about all those and more. Now, though, we want you, ComicBookMovie.com's readers, to share your take on which 2023 superhero movie is the one you're most excited about.

2023 kicks off with Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantaumania, Phase 5's opening chapter. From there, we'll be reunited with the Shazam Family in Shazam! Fury of the Gods, a movie that was supposed to be released this year and may well be the last time we see this iteration of the team.

That's down to DC Studios, of course, and co-CEO James Gunn looks set to bid farewell to the MCU with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. A month later, we return to the Multiverse for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, the sequel to 2018's Oscar-winning classic. Then, there's The Flash, a movie that will definitely be the last time Ezra Miller plays Barry Allen!

Later that summer, Captain Marvel finally gets a sequel when she teams up with Ms. Marvel and Spectrum in The Marvels, while Blue Beetle may end up being our first visit to the new DCU!

Sony Pictures' attempts to expand its Marvel Universe will continue with Kraven the Hunter, and the year will end with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (Jason Momoa's possible last time playing Arthur Curry before he swaps the King of Atlantis for Lobo).

So, exciting times are ahead, and we'd like you to now cast your vote in the poll below to decide which of these upcoming movies you can't wait to watch in theaters!

Oh, and an early Happy New Year to you all as well!

Gotta be GOTG3 for me, can't wait to see how the trilogy will end. Ant-man 3 kinda feels like homework due to kang, like something you have to watch to understand future movies and that diminishes the experience imo. The Flash I'm pretty conflicted about like most people. Across the spider-verse is the runner-up, but I'm worried they'll put too much focus on the spider-man variants gimmick and the story will suffer for it (hopefully that won't be the case, the first one was great). The rest I'm mildly excited about.

Sort of a lukewarm year for me in terms of anticipation. But at the top of the list, it's gotta be GOTG Vol. 3 for me, followed by Spider-Verse.

@Fares - yeah I saw this list and nothing jumped out at me. A few years ago I would have been hype for half the list, haha. Not so much now.

GotG3 1st
Ant-Man a very close 2nd

Almost zero interest in all the rest of that list.

I still don't understand the popularity of the animated Spider-Man movie. I see only one appeal factor in it, & that won't pull me in.

"I see only one appeal factor in it, & that won't pull me in."

Music is strong, intriguing visuals, story did just enough to keep it away from being generic. I'm a little concerned about the second potentially just killing off Peter.B.Parker though in order to set-up Mayday Parker.

@Scarilian -

The appeal factor I referred to is the kid factor.

Examples: My 17 year old Grandson HUGE comics & MCU fan has no interest in it. My 13 year old Grandson totally wants to see it. My 11 year old Granddaughter also wants to see it.

I will use a delay tactic so their Moms take them to it before I get stuck with it.

Quantumania winning so far? This is Ant-Man's world. 1 billion domestic incoming. Flavor of the decade.

Spider-Verse is probably my #1, followed closely by Guardians. But I did give my vote to Beetle because that one is VERY important. They better get that shit right.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 all the way!

Not only are they some of the better movies of the MCU, they hold a special place in movies in general. The way Gunn brought a fairly unknown team into the spotlight and has made the world fall in love with these characters.

And after that teaser trailer, it's safe to say Guardians will go down as one of the best trilogies out there.

@TheDpool - In Gunn We Trust. He will single-handedly save the DCU.

1. GotG V3
2. Antman
3. Marvels
4. Across the Spider-Verse
5. Shazam
6. Aquaman

Zero interest in Kraven or Blue Beetle. I'll watch The Flash only for Keaton's Batman return, but I'm sure it will be painful to watch Ezra Miller for 2 hours. One of the worst superhero castings ever and a total creep.

Defiantly GOG then maybe Blue Beetle and Spider-Man depending on word-of-mouth. Rest I'm not interested in. Was interested in Shazam till I realized it's just a Shazam family movie and I don't care at all about his supporting cast or would want to see them "suit-up".
