We'll be getting to see Amber Heard as Mera for more than just one scene when Aquaman debuts on December 14th, and she just gave us a sneak peak behind-the-scenes of herself adorning her mesmerising outfit.
James Wan's spin-off from last year's Justice League is currently shooting additional footage. During some downtime between reshoots, Amber Heard decided to share a new photo of herself in her comic-accurate costume on Instagram. This gives us an up-close look at her costume. It appears more fabric-like than previously released images made it seem and the colour of the suit seems a tad more bluish it did in our previous look.
Check out the image, which Heard captioned "Aquafied yet again" below:
Heard's co-star Jason Momoa also recently shared a behind-the-scenes look at Aquaman on his Instagram, which you can check out here.
While Heard has only played a minor part thus far in the DC Extended Universe, she is certainly pleased to be a part of the ever-expanding cinematic universe. As she explained, last November:
It's kind of weird. This is my first time stepping into this universe; my first superhero role was Justice League. I have a small part in this amazing, huge, big collection of all the superheroes. We followed it up with Aquaman, which we just wrapped up a week ago. I feel incredibly lucky for this to be my entrance into this world. I'm learning the best part of it all is, really, the fans. Better than all the superpowers and all the super personalities that embody them, the fans who love it, and the energy behind it—that's been the most rewarding, amazing surprise of it all.
What do you think about Heard's post? What do you think about her enthralling costume? Are you happy with Heard in the role or would you have preferred someone else? Are you excited to see more of her in Aquaman?
