AQUAMAN And Mera Are Pursued By The Trench In This New Footage From The Upcoming Movie

It's not much, but a few seconds of new Aquaman footage screened earlier today at ComplexCon 2018, and thanks to Twitter user Carlos Salcines we have it for you guys right here.

The clip begins with some shots from the extended trailer that was released early last month, but this time when Arthur (Jason Momoa) and Mera (Amber Heard) jump off the boat we stay with them as hundreds of Trench swarm above before giving chase as our heroes make their way to the depths of the ocean.

Check out the recorded footage below and let us know what you think in the comments.

From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be…a king.

Aquaman swims into theaters on December 21.

If this bombs Marvel should get Wan for Moon Knight.

@CurlyBill - why would they hire a director after his last superhero venture bombs? Also I think it’s gonna be great

@whynot - If it bombs it doesn't meen that it was Wans fault it could be many things from the studio interfering to it not making enough money. Man of Steel basically bombed and Snyder still did B v S and JL so it's not unheard of.

I don't want any CBM to bomb (except Venom), but I've been burnt one to many times by DC.

Man of Steel made $160 million only on merchandise, before the release in theaters, then made $670 million on box office worldwide. With a budget of $200 million, the profit was around $630 million - that's enough for you?

@Ancar - profit is profit yes it should have made more but 160 million isn’t a bad take even with merchandise. A lot of box office movies don’t even get merchandise as an additive. That’s what makes movies like CBMs special. MOS was great but the thing that set DC on the wrong path is it made parents scared to take there kids. That’s extra $. I like a dark not for kids movie as much as the next guy but if MOS was more child friendly it would have broke the 800 million mark easy

@whynot - That's was not my point. I was just answering to CurlyBill, who said that MOS "basically bombed". And he's completely wrong. The last movie until MOS was Superman Returns and that was a huge bomb. The movie costed to WB $200 million and it made just $400 million on the worldwide box office - and it was totally child friendly:)

This is some of the best CGI I've ever seen. Whoever worked on it deserves a promotion to work at Marvel.

I can already tell this is going to be one of the coolest scenes in the film. The visuals here (what I could see from this cellphone footage anyway..) are just mindblowing!
