The cast of Aquaman has added one more today as it's been revealed that Chinese actor Ludi Lin will be taking on the role of Murk in the upcoming DC Comics adaptation. He now joins a packed out cast which includes Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Nicole Kidman, Dolph Lundgren, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen. Murk debuted during Geoff Johns' acclaimed comic book run on Aquaman in 2013.

The leader of Atlantis' front-line army the Men-of-War, he initially served Arthur Curry's brother, Orm, and later served Aquaman.
However, he secretly disobeyed Atlantean law and showed loyalty to Orm as he believed Orm was the true leader of Atlantis. Chances are the movie could follow a similar path with him betraying Aquaman, but it sounds like we should expect him to have a decent role here.

Lin played the Black Ranger in this year's Power Rangers reboot, but this could very well be his big break. What do you guys think about this casting? As always, share your thoughts down below.

This is a really odd choice and I like it. Murk is such a hardcore Atlantean warrior that turns into a beast whenever there is a possibility of a battle.

By the way, Murk isn't loyal to Orm, he's loyal to Arthur. After realizing that Arthur is the true king of Atlantis, and the bridge between the ocean and the surface, he became Arthur's right hand man.

I doubt that the film will show Murk as a traitor, and as a Orm loyalist. If anyhing, we'll see him more as a young Atlantean willing to do whatever it takes to protect Atlantis from any threat.

@Kr08 - this. In Rebirth he's a brute but extremely loyal to Arthur even though he hates the surface world he goes above his one convictions to be obedient to Arthur. I'm sure there's something in Ludi that Wan and Johns liked so I'm going ahead and trusting them on this one.

I feel like this is a serious miscast. Not only was he the worst part of the Power Rangers (which was surprisingly decent), but I have been reading Aquaman since Rebirth, and I feel this guy does not have the ability to perform the dry humor that Murk has shown nor the Soldier's experience that he gives to Arthur in the comics.

Never would've thought AQUAMAN of all the DC properties in the works would be the one to show the most promise, and yet here we are. Kudos to Wan for putting together a great ensemble. Hope Snyder doesn't do too much damage with him in Justice League.

@MrMurdock - If the reaction to the JL trailer is any indication, he will be the fan favorite.

@TheUnworthyThor -

I think "Bloated" is the right term now when we talk about CBMs. Everyone is using it, I think it's a new trend.

Like "gritty" and "grounded" in the past and "superhero fatigue" and "fun" recently.

This report is saying Justice League has had extensive reshoots and has basically been made twice.

Hopefully the finish product will be good.

@TheRightMan - Justice League finished filming in October with reshoots confirmed to have been done shortly after. It is IMPOSSIBLE for them to have reshot the film twice in the span of a few short months. Especially since none of the actors were available to do so.

Henry Cavill - Suffered a knew injury, was in rehab, and immediately started in MI6
Gal Gadot - Was 6 months pregnant
Ben Affleck - In LA for The Batman writing and finding a new director, rehab, and divorce
Jason Momoa - Busy prepping for Aquaman while traveling
Ray Fisher - Publicly has been on vacation for months (Source: His Instagram)
Ezra Miller - Touring with his band and most likely prepping for Fantastic Beasts 2, which starts filming in a month

There is no way in hell the entire core cast of Justice League were able to come in for reshoots to film the entire movie twice. Also, it says a lot when the source of the rumor is Splash Report/Latino Review, and that El Mayimbe himself, who worked at Latino Review with the guy, says it's bullshit.

If they wanted an asian actor Daniel Dae Kim would be better IMO.

@TheRightMan - You don't have to have just one Asian actor.

Jeezus.
