AQUAMAN Set Pics Feature Amber Heard's Mera & Jason Momoa Sporting New Armor As The King Of Atlantis

A batch of new images from the Gold Coast set of James Wan's Aquaman feature Mera and the Atlantean King taking a little stroll on the beach, and it looks like Jason Momoa is sporting an updated outfit...

As James Wan's solo Aquaman movie continues filming in the Australian coastal suburb of Currumbin, some new set snaps provide our best look yet at the film's central characters in full costume.

Jason Momoa and Amber heard were spotted shooting a scene in which Aquaman and Mera emerge from the sea, and it looks like The King of Atlantis is sporting an updated version of his Justice League costume.

At first glance it seems quite similar, but the shoulder pads and chest-plate are noticeably larger and more shell-like. The photos also shows Mera carrying an object in the right hand, but it's difficult to make out. Could it be something important to the plot, perhaps?

Check out the pics and video below, and be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place.

Aquaman is set for release on December 21, 2018, and also stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Patrick Wilson as Orm Marius/Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry, Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna, and Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko.

@Forthas - I am sure it will be colorized heavily, etc... but you're right... looks like from the Inhumans.

Man I am psyched for this movie. I hope we get a teaser with JL. Can’t believe an Aquaman film is being realized before our very eyes.

I am very curious about this movie, i have the lowest expectations out of any comic book movie than for this. I am not sure Jason can carry the movie as the lead, but that being said, it could be a great movie... I guess we shall see.

Pfft, that's not how a king and queen should dress. Should've went the grounded route.

I'm feeling like the DCU solo films (Man of Steel, Wonder Woman, Aquaman) will end up being miles better than the team-up movies. It's almost like....these characters work better when they're allowed to breathe in their own stories? Then we know them well, and don't need excessive characterization in cross-overs?

My ideal DCU timeline:

Man of Steel (pretty much as it is, I've grown fond of that movie over the years)
Wonder Woman
Aquaman
Justice League (Introduce Batman)
Flash
Green Lantern
