The world finally got to see Jason Momoa bring Aquaman to the big screen in last November's Justice League, and will get to see more of the character when his solo movie hits theatres this winter.
In an interview with MTV's Josh Horowitz at CinemaCon, Momoa talked about how making a movie that rested on his character's shoulders was an entirely different experience than making a team-up film. Momoa explains:
"Justice League was like college. I'm not really sure what Aquaman was, it's just all on my shoulders. I had a great time."
"I think in Justice League, you had five other characters around you suffering equally the same, so it was kind of fun to endure that. And then, you know, it got me ready to do my solo movie which was challenging and tough and hard and super satisfying."
This is a big change for Momoa, who will be the undisputed star of the film after previously only playing Aquaman in smaller roles. This same process worked out very well for Wonder Woman, and Warner Bros. has high hopes that Aquaman will be a huge success as well.
