With the confirmation that film composer Alan Silvestri will score Marvel's The Avengers, over at Marvel.com he also shares some of his thoughts regarding the whole process. You can check it out below:

"This is actually a very unique experience [for me]. I’ve worked on films where there have been a number of stars and certainly worked on films where there have been characters of equal weight in terms of their level of importance and profile in the film, but this one is somewhat extreme in that regard because each of these characters has their own world and it’s a very different situation.

It’s very challenging to look for a way to give everyone the weight and consideration they need, but at the same time the film is really about the coming together of these characters, which implies that there is this entity called the Avengers which really has to be representative of all of them together. It’s always an interesting process, of confronting the film and having a chance to live with it a bit and internalize it a little bit. I am just at the beginning stages of all of that right now and it’s feeling very good. I am looking forward to seeing the evolution of this film. Joss Whedon has really done something magnificent and I think everyone who loves Marvel and their films will especially enjoy this one."

@imnotahero: Silvestri score from CA:TFA was nostalgic and it fitted the time period of the movie very well.

Illwill is kinda sad because there are few Avengers articles lately and he has nothing to show how badass he is. So now he goes kicking trashcans in the street.

@0sagemode0 : Oh don't get me wrong, the score worked for that film but he does tend to be a little overblown with his themes.

@ illwill

we've only had four x-men movies & two fantastic four films,i can't measure it against a justice league movie because there isn't one.

this how i would rate them.

1st x-men 2
2nd x-men first class
3rd x-men
4th x-men 3
5th fantastic four 2
6th fantastic four

the avengers will be at the top of the pile.

The score is a big part in a movie, hopefully he doesn't mess it up.

At least we can all agree this movie is going to be better than the Justice League movie..........oh wait...

Will he create new themes for each Avenger? Obviously Cap would be Silvestri's, but the others might be totally new.

Or will he forego the individual themes for a single Avenger theme, as he alluded to?
