With the main horde of superhero actors and their villain officially on board, there're surely other supporting cast members and cameo reveals to look forward to in Marvel's next big superhero assembly, The Avengers: Age of Ultron. While filming starts next spring, actor Don Cheadle has seemingly revealed to USA Today that he'll have "a part to film in the next Avengers movie," which indicates that he'll reprise his Iron Man 3 role as Colonel James 'Rhodey' Rhodes alongside Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr. But will Rhodey also suit up as War Machine... er Iron Patriot?
We should note that the USA Today article intended to highlight Don Cheadle's response to him being recognized at the Golden Globes for his Showtime series House of Lies, so it failed include the actor's actual quote about the Age of Ultron. However, the context does imply that Cheadle declared his inclusion in the Marvel sequel while giving a rundown of his impending schedule.
While promoting Iron Man 3, Don Cheadle said he hadn't talked with writer/director Joss Whedon about Rhodey showing up in The Avengers sequel, but he did know that "conversations" were happening. He also mentioned that he was visiting the set of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which is said to have a "very strong hand off" to the The Avengers: Age of Ultron. However, we still don't know for sure if Col. James Rhodes will have a presence in either films. What do you think?
So far starring Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Cobie Smulders, Jeremy Renner, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, and Samuel L.
