Hot Toys has unveiled a new 1/6th-scale figure based on this December's Avengers: Doomsday. Based on Chris Evans' appearance as Steve Rogers in the upcoming blockbuster, the hero may have Mjolnir in hand, but Captain America now looks like a regular dude.
The "Regular Dude" or "Regular Man" meme has taken on a life of its own since we got our first look at Evans' MCU return. Sam Wilson is the new Captain America, leaving Steve without a costume or a shield to wield.
Fortunately, he has Mjolnir, and it seems the Russo Brothers didn't want to go down the route of creating a new costumed identity for Steve, even though his Nomad and S.H.I.E.L.D. Director designs from the comics were a possibility (both have been adapted to some extent in movies like Avengers: Infinity War and Captain America: The Winter Soldier).
There's something a little underwhelming about seeing Steve in regular clothes while fighting Doctor Doom and his Sentinels. However, for the OG Cap fans out there, Hot Toys has you covered with this realistic action figure.
Featuring seamless, interchangeable silicone arms, there are plenty of possibilities when it comes to how best to display this version of Steve. Mjolnir in hand is obviously a must, and it seems Hot Toys is going all out with its Avengers: Doomsday line.
