Avengers: Doomsday Merchandise Teases Doctor Doom's Latverian Witches - And Some Potential MCU Returns?

New Avengers: Doomsday merchandise features a new look at Doctor Doom's Latverian Witches, while the inclusion of three familiar faces from the MCU's past has led to speculation about potential returns.

Avengers: Doomsday merchandise is starting to show up worldwide, and today it brings a new look at Doctor Doom's mysterious Latverian Witches.

Many fans are convinced familiar faces from the wider MCU will be behind those masks, though there's a chance they're not as important to the movie's plot as they seem. Still, there has to be a reason for their inclusion in Avengers: Doomsday, and only time will tell what that is.

Another big talking point from the items below is the inclusion of Iron Man, The Hulk, and Captain America. They're each being sold under the Avengers: Doomsday banner, leading to theories that we should expect surprise appearances from them in the movie.

It's not impossible, but this is likely just an example of three iconic MCU characters getting new merch that's guaranteed to sell. The fact that Marvel considered it necessary to include them in this lineup arguably says a lot about the lack of excitement surrounding many of Avengers: Doomsday's actual leads.

Asked recently if he and brother Joe have been enlisted to save the MCU with Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, Anthony said, "It’s a great question. It’s part of the unique challenge. The thing that Joe and I have always appreciated about our collaboration with Marvel is: Our job isn’t to answer for the entirety of the MCU."

The filmmaker continued, "We intersect it in a very specific way. It’s that intersection which is where we can make sense of things."

Check out this new Avengers: Doomsday merchandise in the X posts below.

In Avengers: Doomsday, beloved heroes from three distinct universes will be set on a deadly collision course and face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered.

Avengers: Doomsday stars Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Winston Duke, Tom Hiddleston, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, and Robert Downey Jr. Wyatt Russell, Simu Liu, Tenoch Huerta Mejia, Mabel Cadena, Florence Pugh, Danny Ramirez, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen, Lewis Pullman, India Rose Hemsworth, and Wesley Holloway all make their Avengers franchise debuts.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps leads Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn join them, as do X-Men franchise stars Kelsey Grammer, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, and James Marsden, along with Deadpool & Wolverine star Channing Tatum.

The Russo Brothers direct Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars from a screenplay by Stephen McFeely, with whom they previously collaborated on the Avengers and Captain America franchises. The movie is produced by Kevin Feige, Louis D'Esposito, and Jonathan Schwartz, with Callum McDougall serving as executive producer.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to be released on December 18.

They do have too much padding with characters from failed crappy movies and shows from the last 7 years. Hopefully they will kill a lot of those turds.

Still no mention of Captain Marvel. If she’s not there and Monica Rambeau is, that says a lot since they both headlined the MCUs worst movie.

And please don’t kill Bucky to cement lame FalCap as Captain America.

If the MCU after SW has no Steve Rogers, Thor, or Iron Man, the franchise will fail.

So Spidey and the X-Men will have carry the whole load.

@DocSpock - Eternals remains the worst MCU movie imo. So long, unbelievably boring and so far all the things it set up has gone nowhere (which is probably for the best in most cases).

Spider-Man and the X-Men have carried their own franchises for years - no reason to think they can't carry the MCU.

@ChrisRed - some of you are just tasteless.

Eternas to me is one of the BEST new marvel movies. Directed by an Oscar winner with actual talent for filmaking and photography. unlike the Russo.

some of you guys only care about Ironman, Cap or Thor and that blind you.
really pathetic, imo.

@DocSpock - And if the X Men don’t do better than the FF all they have left is Spidey

@Bucky74 -

Yep. The previous incarnations of X-Men had great established actors for Prof X and Magneto leading them. Most people won’t have heard of anyone but Sink.

Rolling the dice.

@DocSpock - And I don’t get Professor X vibes from that guys who’s playing him. Plus, audiences today are sick of “the message” in every movie and X Men has to have some component of that. The only way that works is if ha does very well and not forced or feeling like Disney is pushing an agenda but “heavy handed” is their default. It could be a huge hit or huge disaster or something in-between which would still kill the IP

@DocSpock - Yes Captain Marvel 2 bombed and no I didn't watch it cause it sounds terrible. But damn it not having Captain Marvel on here seems wrong. She's a really cool character and a powerhouse. The whole thing with the "She's got help" and her second film really turned off a lot of people. I wish they just reinvented her the same way TWS reinvented Captain America in Phase 2. Before TWS I swear nobody gave a shit about Captain America. Coming off of the Avengers (2012) I just remember Iron Man and Hulk having all the hype. They can easily fix Captain Marvel by just giving her a cool story, the character itself isnt the problem. But Marvel's retarded and might drop the whole franchise as a whole.

@gambgel - Couldn't agree more. Eternals was a great movie. I still watch it about every year or so.

It deserved to do way better at the box office than it did.

@Loohnutick - Unpopular opinion: I loved Marvels. Certainly it wasn't perfect, I could nitpick a few things here and there. But overall, great movie.

Honestly , i would rather the Latverian Witches be just random extras Doom has with him but the differing colors & such make me think that’s not the case tbh…

User Comment Image

I can see one of them being Wanda who has likely been manipulated by Doom to join him after losing her memory akin to Children’s Crusade and ending up in his reality , the other being Sylvie who is brainwashed and the third one being Clea who perhaps genuinely believes along with Strange (who is corrupted by his third eye at this point) that Victor is the only one that can save the multiverse and goes by the rumored “Boris” identity now with his own mask.

Anyway , can’t wait to find out if my theory is correct come December 18th!!.
