Avengers: Doomsday Plot Leak Details The Movie's Controversial Opening Action Scene

Another Avengers: Doomsday plot leak reveals new insights into the movie's opening scene, and while it's dividing fans online, it also sounds like an epic way to kick off the Multiverse Saga finale.

Yesterday, we shared some leaked Avengers: Doomsday photos featuring scenes with Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds), and Spider-Man (Tobey Maguire). Those came after months of rumours about the trio taking centre stage in an action-packed opening scene.

Now, details from a Russian Telegram—the source of several recent trailer and image leaks—detail the scene that will feature an Incursion in which Earth-10005 and Spider-Man's world begin to collide.

Despite rumours to the contrary, it's said that neither Doctor Octopus nor Green Goblin appear. Deadpool and Wolverine fight Spider-Man, though the fight is primarily between Logan and Peter Parker. While that's happening, Magneto is dropping bombs on the city, which will ultimately destroy this reality and save the X-Men Universe.

It seems the battle with Spider-Man takes place somewhere near The Daily Bugle, with the building destroyed and the remains of its signage somewhere in the background.

Wolverine and Spider-Man's battle takes place in the rain, with comic-accurate poses. Ultimately, the web-slinger's world is destroyed, and Deadpool and Magneto escape.

Logan and Peter Parker are left behind, and the shot of Professor X shielding his eyes from an explosion in the sky is the moment when Spidey's reality is obliterated. Despite that, we have previously heard of plans for the heroes to return in Avengers: Doomsday's final act and, alongside Deadpool, serve as Avengers: Secret Wars' protagonists.

The X-Men destroying realities in Incursions may seem dark, but as the comics established, either both universes die, or one must be destroyed so the other can live. That moral dilemma was faced by the Illuminati on the page, but it will be the responsibility of the X-Men in the MCU.

That paints them in a villainous light when the Avengers and Fantastic Four arrive on Earth-10005, but does an opening like this emphasise the stakes or run the risk of upsetting fans when they seemingly have to say goodbye to two fan-favourites? We'll have to wait and see.

In Avengers: Doomsday, beloved heroes from three distinct universes will be set on a deadly collision course and face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered.

Avengers: Doomsday stars Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Winston Duke, Tom Hiddleston, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, and Robert Downey Jr. Wyatt Russell, Simu Liu, Tenoch Huerta Mejia, Mabel Cadena, Florence Pugh, Danny Ramirez, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen, Lewis Pullman, India Rose Hemsworth, and Wesley Holloway all make their Avengers franchise debuts.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps leads Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn join them, as do X-Men franchise stars Kelsey Grammer, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, with Deadpool & Wolverine star Channing Tatum.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to be released on December 18.

No one wants Jackman’s Wolverine killed again and Toby’s beloved Spidey offed. I get that they’ll probably come back in the end (they’d better!), but we want them on the team for Doomsday. Instead we get Red Guardian (YES!), Shiri, Ant Man, Sam/cap, and a bunch more D listers with a few main heavy hitters rather than three who should be there.

"Could turn out being a stroke of genius."

It won't. Avengers: Doomsday is the sloppy set-up and Avengers: Secret Wars is the desperate nostalgia cash grab.

@Scarilian - If I had to bet, I'd bet on stroke of genius.

In case you're missing it, Marvel is winning again.

There's still always complaints to make but just gonna throw some obvious stuff out there:

-Daredevil series has been respectably the best D+ ongoing series
-Punisher One Last Kill was fantastic freakin stuff
-Spidey Brand New day is the best Spidey film made so far (yes, thats right, better than the previous 8)
-The next two Avengers movies are being delivered by the Russos whose only 4 Marvel movies (Captain America: Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame) were basically contenders for the best of the MCU.

I am by no means a Marvel apologist. They produced mostly crap movies and series since Endgame (with a few notable exceptions) but they decided to start winning again I guess and I expect Doomsday to deliver the goods and I hope I'm right.

"Marvel is winning again."

I feel the opposite:

The primary set-up movies for Avengers: Doomsday all under-performed and failed to resonate with audiences to the point where they had to advertise the return of prior MCU Phase 1-3 characters because they knew nobody would care about Doomsday otherwise. Take away RDJ, Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans and there's no draw for Avengers: Doomsday. You'd feel nothing for it without them.

Daredevil was a bastardization and mockery of what came before so I stopped watching the Disney+ stuff. Never saw the Punisher special.

Spider-man: Brand New Day felt like going from TFA to TLJ, writers who cannot keep a consistent direction over projects so just undo what the previous did rather than accept the status quo. I found the portrayal of Jean Grey so bad that it's killed my interest in X-Men. I think it completely abandoned the notion of a lone Spider-man movie. Spider-man is Spider-man though and it's riding off the previous Spider-man movie being the thing people all flocked to see during the pandemic so they associate that mentally with escapism helped along by the visuals not looking like slop.

I found Endgame to be a disaster in regards to writing and, for the entire final battle, visuals. The Russo's are not good directors and everything we've seen from Avengers: Doomsday looks terrible to the point where I'm convinced a lot of it is AI generated.

I've read the plot layout for Avengers: Doomsday and it bastardizes more characters and it wastes the audiences time with the characters not realizing Doctor Doom is a villain until the third act with tons of exposition with characters I don't care for.

@Scarilian -

1. You're overstating Daredevil's flaws on Disney and its merits on Netflix. The Netflix show was superior but not by too much honestly. Theres some exceptional stuff in Born Again and some pretty crappy stuff in Netflix (Foggy? that character and acting in general is like paint by numbers generic lol)....point is, they're pretty similar in terms of quality and stories told with netflix overall doing best - but the D+ series is a fair execution of a Daredevil show! You should finish it.

2. Holy crap why have you not watched the Punisher Special? If you don't like that then its just taste that can't be accounted for.

3. Same thing with Brand New Day!

4. And same thing again (again) with Endgame! There's no way someone looks at that and declares bad. Disagreements fine. But bad?

5. Which takes me to your claim that the Russo's are not good directors....do you agree with the broad sentiment that Captain America Winter Soldier and Avengers Infinity War are basically the best MCU movies? If so then you can't dismiss these guys.

God, that Wolverine mask looks so bad. I think Deadpool can pull it off cuz his whole face is covered (like Spidey). Showing half the actor's face makes it look like cheap cosplay. Blech.

First off they need to fix that mask on Wolvie.

We probably need to see his eyes. The white things covering his eyes are cool and all in referencing some iterations of Wolverine on the page but his eyes were often drawn as showing through the mask as well which seems easier to pull off.
