Avengers: Doomsday Poster Officially Released — And One Latverian Witch Is Now Wearing Scarlet!

We first caught a glimpse of this Avengers: Doomsday poster a few days ago, but it's now been officially released, sending MCU fans into a frenzy.

At this past July's San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios displayed the costumes for three Latverian Witches wearing green, yellow, and purple. Well, the mysterious trio stand tall behind Doctor Doom on this ominous new poster, but there's been one huge change.

The witch at the back is wearing red, or could that be...scarlet? Nothing is done by accident in the marketing campaign for a movie as big as this one, and it feels like the closest we've come to confirmation that Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch has indeed fallen under Doom's spell.

There may still be a yellow witch, of course, but that Comic-Con display might have been one big misdirect. As for the other two, we're still betting on Clea and Sylvie, two characters who were revealed to have big ties to the Multiverse in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Loki.

"He is a very powerful character," Joe Russo recently said of Robert Downey Jr.'s take on Victor Von Doom. "He’s a genius. He studied his foes, he understands them, and he’s also well-planned. He’s not somebody who just does something off the cuff."

"So, everything is meticulous with him, and he knows that, if he’s going to step on a battlefield against somebody, he has to have the tactical advantage or a power advantage against that person," the filmmaker added. "So, he’s very difficult to beat."

If the Scarlet Witch is back, then we can likely expect the Russo Brothers to adapt elements of "The Children's Crusade." In that storyline, an amnesiac Wanda Maximoff was being controlled by Doom, who planned to steal and unleash her powers to reshape the world in his image.

@spr0cks - Agatha is a ghost right now so idk if that’s possible. Plus we haven’t seen clea since multiverse of madness and Morgan has a long history with doom plus she’s a bad ass witch/villain and it would be something new to see.

@KineticAce - Wanda's dead too. Multiverse.

Red is def Wanda, purple could be Agatha or Clea, green might be Death. I mean the MCU already has a Scarlet Witch, a purple witch and a green witch so it would make sense if it were these three (Wanda, Agatha and Death).

But I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that they're secretly the Beyonders.
KineticAce
KineticAce - 10/5/2026, 12:01 AM
@ObserverIO - I still believe Wanda is not dead and if the red witch is Wanda it’s not a variant but the actual 616 Wanda. I personally don’t want a variant Wanda. Just give me the OG Wanda so she can redeem herself and be a hero again and break out of dooms control.

These witches could be named characters but I hope not tbh…

I think they are this movie’s version of the Black Swan cult from the Secret Wars comic and just random extras but we’ll see.

They trying REALLY hard to make us believe that Dr. Doom is more powerful and scarier than a fully gem'd and activated Infinity Gauntlet wearing MAD TITAN, who was powerful enough even without any Infinity Stones. 😲

But then again...

Thanos did end up being one of THE DUMBEST moronic villain who was defeated wielding all of the above mentioned powers. 🤦‍♂️

@TheOtherOn - Actually, if you think about it. There are glaring things about Endgame. Once they could time travel, why didnt the Avengers just go right to Wakanda before he snaps his fingers and get the gauntlet from him? They could have prevented the snap all together and avoided all the craziness. Secondly, why didn't 2014 Nebula just betray and kill all the Avengers and just take the Gauntlet? At minimum she could have stolen the stones THEN brought Thanos to the present.

Its like, instead of bringing an entire invading army to the future, she could have yipped the stones and gone back to 2014 with them.

@CreateNowSlpL8r -

RE :" Once they could time travel, why didnt the Avengers just go right to Wakanda before he snaps his fingers and get the gauntlet from him?"

Because you literally misunderstood how time travel in the MCU works.
This isn't now time travel in the MCU works.
At all.

They literally explained this point in the movie - except they used the scenario of using time travel to go back in time to kill Thanos as a baby.

Were you asleep during that entire scene in the movie or did you just happen to go watch the movie while lobotomized?

Going back to the past (....of "a" timeline) and changing anything there, doesn't affect or change anything in the present .........of YOUR TIMELINE.
It changes the future of THAT timeline ( Whose "present" you don't exist in nor come from).
You can't go back to the past of your own timelin, because it's scientifically and logically impossible from the standpoint of causality.

When you go back to the past, you go to the past of a different but parallel timeline that's more or less identical to your own but yet still isn't it.

That way they completely side-step and avoid all time-travel causality paradoxes like the grandfather paradox or the bootstrap paradox.
In addition, it's consistent with our uunderstand of time travel within the framework of Quantum Mechanics and the 'Many Worlds' interpretation of reality, and is in effect, the most scientifically accurate presentation of time-travel that scientifically cogent and accurate (...more or less).

Literally everything else you've written in your comment after what I quoted is nonsense that could have been avoided if you actually bothered paying even the minimum of modicum attention.

Why are people still confused about this almost 10 years later?
CreateNowSlpL8r
CreateNowSlpL8r - 10/4/2026, 12:45 PM
@spr0cks - Why are people still confused about this almost 10 years later?

Because the writers and directors literally contradicted their own time travel rules. Technically, everything they were doing were creating branches. For example, Rhodey interferes with Quill getting the powerstone. Thats a branch now.

So you can't kill Thanos as a baby but you can remove the stones from the timeline? Their time travel rules were written so they could do whatever they wanted. Steven traveling through time to return the stones could cause branches all over the place.

In Loki season 1, When Loki tries to out the Avengers for time traveling, hes told its because that was supposed to happen. So they did travel within the sacred timeline aka, their own past and change it. Thats why they had the bit with the ancient one. They knew the branch explanation would mean they didn't actually fix anything, there would still be a branch, the original timeline, where Thanos wins and thats it. The reason for the ancient one conversation is a plot device (the stones), so they could explain their way out of their own rules.

Thats why the second Loki shows up in the desert, the TVA shows up. All he did was teleport but that was now a branch, so they pruned it. So the second anyone changes anything, even Steve fighting himself, that would also cause a branch.
cubrn
cubrn - 10/4/2026, 6:41 PM
@CreateNowSlpL8r - and it seems like Steve's actions in Endgame (such as fighting himself and staying behind in the 1940's) is the reason why Loki comes to visit him in Doomsday. His actions aren't without consequences.
CreateNowSlpL8r
CreateNowSlpL8r - 10/4/2026, 7:02 PM
@cubrn - True but thats a retcon. Its still a mess of an explanation. TVA Loki gets his new timeline immedietly prunned when he takes off with the tesseract. That means, the second the 2023 Avengers land in 2012, its a branch right? But it doesnt get prunned until Loki does something. Now, just for giggles. Doctor Strange treats is differntly because hes hoping universes. The problem is, when we learn about Kang, hes not really a time traveler. Hes a multiverse traveler. So in MOM, they adapt it so Strange, like Kang is traveling the multiverse, hence no pruning. When Clea shows up to tell him hes caused an incursion, its not because he hoped into Earth-838. 838 Reed explains to Strange, the longer you stay, the more you mess around with, you can cause an incursion. So Clea shows up because Strange daywalking into his own body is too far, now you have an incursion but notice the TVA doesnt show up, nor does it cause a branch. I get what @spr0cks is saying but there is more evidence - Old Steve.

There are only two explanations. 1) Steve DID travel back in his own timeline. 2) Steve use the time GPS, got some Pym particles, and navigated back to 616 and gave the shield to Sam. In either case, it shouldnt have been possible. The TVA would/should have prunned the new timeline immedietly.

Every action the Avengers take should not only have caused a branch but potentially an incurrsion. In Endgame, they use the word realities, not universes. My point is, the reason for the over explanation by the Ancient one is to give them an out, so using the plot device, they CAN change their own future.

The Smart Hulk scene is added on in reshoots. You can look that up because in test screenings people were confused. Thats why they use the very specific kill Thanos as a baby. What they are saying in both scenes is not the same explanation. Once again, @spr0cks is right. Except, in the Ancient one scene, they give the writers a one-time out.

So everything I originally wrote stands, if they can write a way that they can meet their former selves, steal stones (I know they put them back but the events of 2012 change, Hydra doesnt get the mind stone because Cap took it. The twins never get experimented on, Vision is never created, etc). Tony gets cardiac arrest. It goes on and on and on.
