The supposed Avengers: Doomsday leaks continue, and we now have some additional details from @variablelace, the leaker who has been sharing never-before-seen cast photos from Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.
They're among the X users who claim to have been privy to similar images from the next Avengers movie, and reveal today that Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man is indeed back for Doomsday.
While we don't have costume details, it sounds like this Peter Parker Variant, last seen in Spider-Man: No Way Home, will have a "short beard," similar to the Ultimate Spider-Man.
The leaker also claims to have confirmed that Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine are both returning for Avengers: Doomsday. The former's involvement has already been confirmed by the trades, but Jackman's return as Logan alongside the rest of the X-Men cast is sure to be welcomed.
We also have a minor Wonder Man update; in news which we're sure is going to delight many of you, Simon Williams will eventually don a comic-accurate costume in the upcoming Disney+ series.
@MyTimeToShineH, meanwhile, has chimed in to say that Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom "is shaping up to be one of Marvel's best villains," based on what they've been hearing from their sources.
The scooper also reiterates previous reports that there will be a "twist" to Sadie Sink's character in Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Secret Wars. What that is has yet to be revealed, but if any of these insiders knew who she was playing, they'd have surely said by now!
Avengers: Doomsday officially stars Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Winston Duke, Tom Hiddleston, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, and Robert Downey Jr. Wyatt Russell, Simu Liu, Tenoch Huerta Mejia, Florence Pugh, Danny Ramirez, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen, and Lewis Pullman all make their Avengers franchise debuts in the movie.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps leads Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn join them, as do X-Men franchise stars Kelsey Grammer, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, with Deadpool & Wolverine star Channing Tatum.
Chris Evans, Hayley Atwell, and Ryan Reynolds are also set to appear, according to reports from the trades. Many actors are similarly rumoured to show up, including Tobey Maguire, Hugh Jackman, Brie Larson, Elizabeth Olsen, and countless others.
The Russo Brothers direct the movie from a screenplay by Stephen McFeely, with whom they previously collaborated on the Avengers and Captain America franchises. Loki and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness's Michael Waldron is also working on the script.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to be released on December 18, 2026, with Avengers: Secret Wars scheduled to arrive on December 17, 2027.
