Avengers: Doomsday is less than two months away from arriving in theaters. Now, The Cosmic Circus has shared another round of rumours about the only 2026 movie likely to compete with Spider-Man: Brand New Day's record-breaking box office success.

Talking of the web-slinger, the latest update from the site is that Tom Holland's Peter Parker still isn't set to appear in Avengers: Doomsday. The events of Spider-Man: No Way Home could factor into Doctor Strange's story, though what he's been up to since meeting Clea likely won't be explored until Avengers: Secret Wars.

Doctor Doom, Steve Rogers, and Thor are described as Avengers: Doomsday's "emotional 'protagonists,' though "most of the cast will have their own standout emotional moments."

There will also be some fun moments between Gambit and Yelena Belova, and a chance for Anthony Mackie's Captain America to shine in "multiple fight scenes" during "at least 3 action sequences."

With tensions high between Wakanda and Talokan after the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, "Those negotiations will reach fever pitch in Doomsday with a tense diplomatic meeting." Despite that, Namor is not allied with Victor Von Doom in Avengers: Doomsday.

Another interesting tidbit is that Mystique likely only transforms into Yelena, leaving it unlikely that we'll see familiar faces from the X-Men franchise's past unless they appear in flashbacks through recycled footage.

Over to the movie's ending now, and the site's Alex Perez explains, "The X-Mansion battle is not an ending; it is the first meeting of the X-Men and the group from Earth's 616 and 828. There is no 'fakeout ending' ... the climax of the movie will be definitive. I would recommend checking out Secret Wars (2015) issue #1 for context on what to expect."

As expected, the Final Incursion—between Earth-616, 828, and 10005—will lead to Doctor Doom sitting on the throne of Battleworld as the new ruler of the Multiverse's remains. Hopefully, there will be an interesting wrinkle that makes it somewhat unpredictable for comic book readers.

In Avengers: Doomsday, beloved heroes from three distinct universes will be set on a deadly collision course and face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered.

Avengers: Doomsday stars Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Winston Duke, Tom Hiddleston, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, and Robert Downey Jr. Wyatt Russell, Simu Liu, Tenoch Huerta Mejia, Mabel Cadena, Florence Pugh, Danny Ramirez, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen, Lewis Pullman, India Rose Hemsworth, and Wesley Holloway all make their Avengers franchise debuts.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps leads Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn join them, along with X-Men franchise stars Kelsey Grammer, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, and James Marsden, plus Deadpool & Wolverine star Channing Tatum.

Directed by the Russo Brothers, Avengers: Doomsday is set to be released on December 18.

@DoomGame - No matter how hard I try to get on board with Pedro Pascal’s casting, I can’t. I like him as an actor, and I can understand why they cast him, but it just really misses the mark for me in such a big way. I’d be curious to hear the behind the scenes lore surrounding his casting. After watching The Beast in Me and Widow’s Bay I found myself wishing Marvel had somehow cast Matthew Rhys instead. Pedro’s a great actor, but he’s just not Reed… like, at all.

It's only 2 months away. Just wait for the film to end these rumours.

@DoomGame
I get the frustration from a fan point of view. I feel like its the unfortunate timing of having the established universe and characters vs. getting the players that should be the main lead too late into the game. Had Reed been around in the universe for a few more years Im sure he would have been a bigger player in this. But we just now got him :/

@AgentofSH1ELD - I didn't read Doom's original comment, but if it's about the lack of adherence to Reed and Doom's history then I agree. You only need this one movie to establish that. There was no need to move it to Cap, while simultaneously destroying Cap's happy ending. While someone else parades arounds as 'Cap'. While Steve parades around as Thor in civvies.

Also why not bring back all the OG Fox-men, the half measures is cheap. And then there's the half-measures on the rest of the Avengers and MCU cast.

Whole thing's a mess. Endgame stuck the landing. This won't. Sure Endgame had it easier. Maybe this was just to big for even the Russos to handle.

Ive no interest in namor (terrible adaptation) , shuri (laughable as black panther) , reed Richards (dreadful casting), yelena (insufferable character that is being pushed down our throats- heavily discounted black widow) Monica rambeau (LOL), shang chi or discount captain america. If it was a slightly expanded version of the original avengers I might have hype for this, the fact all these phase 4 and 5 characters will get significant screen time is disgusting
