AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Parts 1 & 2 Will Be "Very Different From One Another"

A two-part blockbuster film has to be very similar, right? Wrong! Directors Anthony and Joe Russo, in a recent interview, revealed that Avengers: Infinity War Parts 1 & 2 will be very different from each other.

Avengers: Infinity War will be Marvel's biggest film yet! Captain America: Civil War directors Anthony and Joe Russo will return for the two-part film, and it will be shot entirely in IMAX! With that said, will the end of the first film lead straight into the second? Not exactly. Anthony Russo, in a recent interview with io9, revealed that the Infinity War movies will be very different from each other. “The movies are very very different from one another. It’s not a part one and part two scenario, necessarily. They’re just two different expressions. I think it creates a misconception that we’re shooting them at the same time.” With Ant-Man and the Wasp (July 6, 2018) and Captain Marvel (March 8, 2019) set to hit theaters between Infinity War 1 and 2, you shouldn't expect the first Infinity War film to end with a huge cliffhanger.

Captain America: Civil War writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely also agreed with Anthony Russo, saying that the two films are indeed different. “I will agree [the two movies are very different], and that was very important to all of us.” Anthony Russo then chimed back in, and told how Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Captain America: Civil War helps paves the path to Infinity War“For us there’s a through line from Winter Soldier, through Civil War, right to Infinity War. In our mind, the storytelling arc moves that way.” Joe Russo then piggybacked off of Anthony's thoughts, telling how Civil War helps prepares the two directors for the 2018 blockbuster. “There’s an overarching story that’s going to be told through all four films. And I think having the amount of characters we have in [Civil War] certainly prepares us to deal with probably triple the amount of characters in Infinity War.”  Based on what RDJ said about Infinity War last month ("Joe Russo was just pitching me some of the Infinity War stuff, so you’d better hold on to your hats. Sky’s the limit."), this film's going to be history making. Share your thoughts in the comment section below!

Starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Chadwick Boseman, Emily VanCamp, Daniel Brühl, Frank Grillo, William Hurt, and Martin Freeman, Captain America: Civil War is set to be released on May 6th, 2016. CBM.com has gotten real slow lately. Probably because the "editors" have discouraged contributions from the community.

@TheEpicJuicebox - I can't help but just completely eat up anything the Russo Bros say. Those two are genius creative minds and I'm so glad they are the ones lined up for the Infinity War movies, as I'm not sure I can think of anyone else I'd trust with such a groundbreaking task.

i trust those 2 guys. But i fear for Thanos.
Are the writers of IW responsible for "WS" or "CW"? Or both maybe ?

@jerryblake - The writers of IW also wrote CW, WS, First Avenger, and did some rewrites on parts of Thor Dark World.

Marcus and McFeely.

A film shot entirely in IMAX is going to be history making. I can't wait to check it out.

@Earthbound - I don't think filming these movies entirely in IMAX cameras can cost $1 billion. That's pretty expensive. Don't you think?

@McU - I don't know who said that, but I know it won't be cheap either, but if anyone has earned the opportunity to doll out the money it will take to shoot these movies, it's Marvel Studios.

@Earthbound - Just google Avengers Infinity War budget & see for yourself. It will be the most expensive movie production in the history.

I hate when movie's subtitles use "part 1" or "part 2", sounds lazy. Usually means one of two things
1) "We were too lazy to come up with another cool sounding title."
2) "In order to milk cash-cow, we split and padded one movie into two parts."
