Avengers: Infinity War will be Marvel's biggest film yet!
Captain America: Civil War directors Anthony and Joe Russo will return for the two-part film, and it will be shot entirely in IMAX! With that said, will the end of the first film lead straight into the second? Not exactly. Anthony Russo, in a recent interview with
io9, revealed that the Infinity War movies will be very different from each other.
“The movies are very very different from one another. It’s not a part one and part two scenario, necessarily. They’re just two different expressions. I think it creates a misconception that we’re shooting them at the same time.” With
Ant-Man and the Wasp (July 6, 2018) and
Captain Marvel (March 8, 2019) set to hit theaters between
Infinity War 1 and 2, you shouldn't expect the first
Infinity War film to end with a huge cliffhanger.
Captain America: Civil War writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely also agreed with Anthony Russo, saying that the two films are indeed different.
“I will agree [the two movies are very different], and that was very important to all of us.” Anthony Russo then chimed back in, and told how
Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and
Captain America: Civil War helps paves the path to
Infinity War.
“For us there’s a through line from Winter Soldier, through Civil War, right to Infinity War. In our mind, the storytelling arc moves that way.” Joe Russo then piggybacked off of Anthony's thoughts, telling how
Civil War helps prepares the two directors for the 2018 blockbuster.
“There’s an overarching story that’s going to be told through all four films. And I think having the amount of characters we have in [Civil War] certainly prepares us to deal with probably triple the amount of characters in Infinity War.” Based on what
RDJ said about
Infinity War last month (
"Joe Russo was just pitching me some of the Infinity War stuff, so you’d better hold on to your hats. Sky’s the limit."), this film's going to be history making. Share your thoughts in the comment section below!
