Earlier today, Avengers: Infinity War managed to pass $300 million at the North American box office in the space of just five days. That's a feat which has previously only been achieved by Star Wars: The Force Awakens back in 2015, a movie which generated a lot of excitement because it was the first instalment in that saga for a decade and it brought back familiar characters like Han Solo and Leia.
That just goes to show how invested moviegoers are in the Marvel Cinematic Universe these days and in even more good news for the Russo Brothers helmed release, the signs are pointing to it having another huge weekend domestically. Right now, analysts believe that it should clear between $100 million - $125 million which on the high-end is a drop of only 51% (and that's a great result).
There's a chance it could go higher, though; we'll just have to wait and see. Overseas, Avengers: Infinity War continues performing strongly as it added another $87.9 million yesterday to take its worldwide cume over $800 million in just six days of release. That's an incredible feat and while some initially suspected it might not beat Black Panther's $1.3 billion haul, it should now easily surpass that.
