Top 5 panels from “The Infinity Gauntlet” comic book most likely to be adapted in Avenger: Infinity War.

My personal top 5 count down of panels from T.I.G. that I believe will, and should be adapted in A.I.W. SPOILER WARNING: for The Infinity Gauntlet comics.

#5 West Coast Sinks

In TIG Thanos, driven by anger, and frustrated at not being able to please Mistress Death, lets loose a psychic wave of power so strong it nearly devastates a quarter of the galaxy. By the time is hits Earth it’s only at 2% of its peak strength, which is strong enough to shake the planet, topple buildings, sink the Japanese isles, and even break off and sink the entire western coast of the United States. The panel showing Iron Man’s high altitude point of view of this would be amazing, if adapted into live action in AIW. Now whether Thanos throws a tantrum to cause all this, I kind of doubt, but there is no doubt in my mind that this level of world wide destruction will and should take place in the movie. After all, we all know that the infinity gauntlet is capable of everything and anything, even undoing all the damage someone used it for. How much, if any, of the damage gets reversed? That question & subsequent answers is worth its own editorial.

 #4 Drax/Hulk Team Up

Thanos decides he will try to impress Mistress Death by fighting the Avengers as opposed to merely willing them out of existence, giving Earth’s Mightiest Heroes the slightest possibility for victory. This first mistake by Thanos is immediately capitalized on as Hulk and Drax attack Thanos from behind and then begin smashing him while he’s on the ground. With Hulk and Drax both being in AIW the chance for a double team does at least exist. Hopefully we’ll get this adapted in some form or another.

#3 The Snap

This “SNAP” kills half the life in the universe instantaneously… damn… sorry, anyway, for all we know this demonstration of the gauntlet’s omnipotent power could either be adapted exactly as is, or reinterpreted with some other kind of terrifically terrible godly act. As far as visually, I’m pretty sure we will get a zoom in on the gauntlet followed by a snap. But what will happen as a result? We’ll have to wait and see.

#2 “COME AND GET ME!”

These last two will give me goose bumps if the Russo Brothers can pull them off. They aren’t only the ones I think are the most likely to be adapted, but easily the ones I’m hoping to see the most. Don’t really need to explain this one. It speaks for itself. Don’t worry Thanos, they’re coming, and we’ll be there too, to see it all go down. For WE ARE the Watchers of this universe! (Plot twist)

#1 A Man Punches A God

The battle of Thanos vs. the Avengers is all but done. All of those brave enough to choose to stand and fight this ego driven, nihilistic god have met their ends at his hand. Only one last Avenger remains, the first Avenger, Captain America, who walks up face to face with Thanos and tells him that, “As long as one man stands against you Thanos, you’ll never be able to claim victory.” To which Thanos response by shattering Cap’s shield. But just before Thanos can land his next killing blow, he gets momentarily distracted by a failed attempt by the Silver Surfer to remove the gauntlet. It is in this brief window that Cap seizes the opportunity to sock Thanos in his fat, purple, f***ed up looking face! Not to win the fight of course, it’s not about winning at this point. It’s about refusing to give up ‘till your last breath no matter the odds! Basically it’s about Cap being Cap.

I know I could be 100% off on ALL of these. Kevin Feige was quoted in regards to Avengers: Infinity War saying, “Anything is possible....But knowledge of the comics can be both beneficial to fans anticipating things, and also misleading. So you'll have to see.

So which iconic moments from these comics are you hoping to see get fleshed out on the big screen? Sound off below with some lists of your own.

I really hope that Thanos does his snap in this movie. It seems highly unlikely that Marvel would show a villain killing countless beings, but it would be very interesting to see.

Too bad we won't get Silver Surfer crashing into the Sanctum Sanctorum.

@dezdigi - Agreed. But maybe someone else could fill that spot; Star Lord, Nebula, any good guy who's still alive after Guardians 2, maybe even Thor. Until it is, it could be whatever we want it to be.

I could see a damaged Nebula(or maybe Gamora) grabbing the Gauntlet when he is distracted/out of body and repaying Thanos for all the pain he has inflicted on her as a kid. She looks to be turning over a new leaf in GoG2.

How they do this comic book adaption without Silver Surfer, Adam Warlock, Galactus and the Fantastic 4 is going to be interesting.
