"Avengers: Rise of the Superior" *& "Civil War" Fan Trailers

A meteor storm on earth brings the Avengers together along with members of the X-Men and Fantastic Four. And then there's a new trailer on a proposed "Civil War" movie. When a fan trailer makes you wish it was for a real film, you know it's a job well done.

Honestly, I don't see anything cool with the first trailer, so it's a bunch of cuts from other movies, and usually when someone does this they try to make it feel to be in the same world but none of it has any relevance to each other, even the dialogue chosen didn't help to bond these different movies together.

The second one was a little better at splicing the variety of movies though.

I keep my wet dreams for Lewis, LEEE. I know he does the same :P
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 7/3/2009, 8:28 AM
sigh...if only all the Marvel characters could feature in eachothers films like that - Wolverine vs The Hulk, Spider-Man teaming up with the FF...

Shaman: that talentless turd Jason Lewis hasnt got a chance-the only wet dream around here is the one where LEE imagines him as Cap (thats as close as he's gonna get to the role, lol)

On a slightly unrelated note-ha anyone else read Captain America Reborn #1 yet? That new costume should definitely be the one used in the Cap movie!!! Great last page as well!

Shaman: even if you havent read Brubakers run so far on Cap (what are you crazy? read it already, lol!) you should definitely pick this series up-this is the best pic that I could find but there is a much better image of the costume near the end of the issue!

its not A LOT different but its hard to see it all that well in this image but as i said near the end of the book it looks much better!

I would still prefer to see this one in the film

TusconRican: i dont like that mask at all-its just goggles and a helmut! i also wouldnt want to see that shield-the round one that he can throw at enemies would make for a much more entertaining film!
TucsonRican
TucsonRican - 7/3/2009, 10:22 AM
Goggles and a Helmet would be easier to swallow then a guy running around in a brightly colored outfit in the middle of a battlefield.

And that shield is what he had when created. He gets the round one when he wakes up. Would also be easier to transition him into the different outfit.

But to see him leading troops into battle, it would make sense to wear this outfit.^^
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 7/3/2009, 10:29 AM
TusconRican: he actually had that shield in the first few issues of his comic book in the 40's but it was then changed to the round one-its only in the Ultimate universe that he was given a round shield AFTER he woke up not in the regular Marvel Universe. Anyway, is that a fan made image of Cap because iv never seen him in that costume or holding a gun!

JoshWilding - 7/3/2009, 10:39 AM
SHAMAN: heres the pic i was telling you about (i blanked out the speach buuble with a white square because it contained a HUGE spoiler!)

TucsonRican
TucsonRican - 7/3/2009, 10:41 AM
The first place I saw it was on the loading screen for Ultimate Alliance. Then I saw the Ultimate Avengers movie.

Then I looked it up. I just love it. Gives it some realism, like Cap could have existed. And it doesn't take away from the heroism that the real soldiers demonstrated.
Shaman
Shaman - 7/3/2009, 11:19 AM
Wow josh, that's actually a kick ass outfit. It would be best for the opening and after he thaws out, he should get the suit CaptainAwesome made on his fan poster.
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 7/3/2009, 11:44 AM
SHAMAN: im actually hoping that this will be the new costume for Cap in the comic books but unfortunately i thik this is probably just the brilliant Bryan Hitch's interpretation of the WWII Cap! :( This will be great for the movie especially as it gets rid of the wings and gives Cap a helmut type mask that sticks close to the original and of course a much more realistic belt! I doubt we will see the CaptainAwesome suit in the movie though as its used by Bucky-Cap rather than the original-it would look great onscreen though!

Bucky-Cap:

Anil Rickly: put SPOILER before you write stuff like that! some people might not have read Reborn yet!!!
Shaman
Shaman - 7/3/2009, 11:55 AM
Yeah i'm sure it's just the WW2 Cap. A very cool one at that. I like how they actually painted the wings on each side LOL :P
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 7/3/2009, 11:57 AM
they could do with using parts of the costume for the modern Cap tho-especially the belt, wings and whatever that strap that goes over Cap's chin is called!

lol, not bad, but not liking the black suit being the one made by Stark... Makes little sense, really.

Thanks Anil, I was looking forward to reading it when I got back, but not now. You have killed my faith in humanity :( The only thing that can save me now is sleeping with a hot red head, which I plan on doing after I say I do ;)

HAWK out, for a week.

For Captain America: NO goggles. NO helmet. Round shield. NO armor. NO leather. Tweak the costume some if it will photograph better, but I want to see Cap looking like Cap, not some crappy Cap wannabe. I don't think it's too much to ask.

As for these trailers, they were both HUGELY disappointing. All they are is someone cobbling together dialogue and action from existing movies, rather than present a cool and original idea. Look to "Grayson" for a great example of a fan trailer done right.
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 7/4/2009, 2:58 AM
that new costume from 'Reborn' is the best Cap costume yet! It keeps the original design but takes the best part of the ultimate costume as well!
EdGross
EdGross - 7/4/2009, 7:47 AM
I agree that something like Grayson is amazing, or Batman: Dead End. Problem is that those trailers cost, respectively, $18,000 and $30,000 to make. For an inspired and aspiring editor, trying to create trailers from existing footage is, I think, something to be applauded rather than dismissed. They allow their creators to develop their abilities even if they don't have the financial resources to go out there and shoot footage themselves. Just an opinion.

I personnally really didn't like "Graysons". I prefered "Ashes to Ashes".
