Yesterday evening, another round of damaging reports about Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania star Jonathan Majors began doing the rounds from major outlets. Following the news that the actor has been dropped by his manager and from several projects, it was said that a number of additional women are coming forward with their own accusations about Majors.
Now, he's hit back by releasing new information about his defence through TMZ.
The site has shared a number of videos showing Majors' alleged victim clubbing and getting drunk following the assault he's been accused of. That's despite the fact the woman told police she had suffered a broken finger and laceration behind her ear. Like those texts, this feels like something of a stretch, but it looks set to be at the forefront of the actor's defence.
Something that could go a long way in exonerating Majors, however, is the fact the driver who witnessed what happened will testify that the Loki star did not strike her. Official documents also seem to suggest he was defending himself when the woman, thought to be Majors' girlfriend, attacked him in an effort to steal his phone.
The site has additional details you can read in their full report (including what happened when police arrived the following morning), but it sounds like Majors is putting together a strong case in an effort to prove his innocence. While he does appear to be blacklisted in Hollywood for the time being, if he's found innocent, there's a chance his career could recover. However, that may hinge on whether any additional claims are made in the weeks ahead.
Disney and Marvel Studios appear to be taking a wait-and-see approach to Majors' MCU future as Kang the Conqueror, anyway, as he remains under employment with them.
In Variety's report, it's mentioned that Majors is expected to earn $20 million payday including back-end compensation for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and that he's also signed up to star in Avengers: Secret Wars.
This is a situation that's developing quickly and, no matter the outcome, it feels a lot like a new actor being cast as Kang is inevitable.
