In what may come as shocking news for fans, Avengers: Infinity War was topped in the Japanese box office by the anime film, Detective Conan: Zero the Enforcer.

The movie has stomped on the Avengers to come out on top in box office sales for its third week in a row. This is the 22nd Conan feature film and it sold a whopping 453,000 tickets over the weekend of April 28-29, which was 16,000 more than Avengers: Infinity War did in its opening weekend in Japan.

What is interesting is that despite the many promotional efforts by Disney to hit the Japanese audience, even doing a superhero collaboration with the popular fan-favorite anime of My Hero Academia's characters, Walt Disney's third Avengers film was not able to make much impact in the Land of the Rising Sun. The Marvel epic earned a small 672 million yen (which equals about 6155633 US Dollars) from the 437,000 tickets sales on its opening weekend, which is 16.4% down from the opening weekend of Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015.

Here is a small glimpse at the collaboration between My Hero Academia and the Avengers. If you want to check out the full thing, click here!

Infinity War is a good film and even a remarkable achievement in how they handled various stories. But it is a tad bit overrated!
