Don Cheadle Debunks War Machine Appearing in The Avengers & Confirms Spin-off Progress!

Don Cheadle, the actor behind Rhodey of Marvel's Cinematic Universe, debunks the armored War Machine appearing in The Avengers , but confirms progress on his spin-off.

Speaking shortly with MTV, Don Cheadle, the actor who has taken over as James Rhodes via Iron Man 2 in Marvel's Cinematic Universe, speaks on his armored alias War Machine. He answers instantly if he'll appear in the crossover spectacle The Avengers, and speaks on the progress of his spin-off film. Also commenting on Jon Favreau's directorship departure for Iron Man 3, watch below.


"They're developing it now, they're working on that," Cheadle told MTV News when asked about a "War Machine" movie. "I think they've hired a writer, so we'll see how it goes. It would be a lot of fun. I don't think he shows up in ['Avengers']," said Cheadle. "I think he's kind of a lone wolf."

"People move on for various reasons, and Jon's very busy," he said. "He's going to do 'Cowboys And Aliens,' and he has a ton of other projects on his slate, so he's fine. I don't actually know what happened, I'm kind of out of that loop."


Seeming that hes speaking theoretically, I believe there could be reference of some sort in Joss Whedon's Avengers film, but what do you think? Anyhow, with Robert Downey Jr., Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Clark Gregg, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, and Kevin Pennington (who confirmed to me via Twitter) assembling May 4, next year, Iron Man 3 hits May 3, 2013.
