Elizabeth Olsen Addresses Samuel L. Jackson's 'Scarlet Witch' Claims; Hints At NYCC Appearance

Are Marvel Studios planning on bringing out the new cast members of The Avengers: Age of Ultron at the New York Comic Con as they did in San Diego? Well, while she plays coy about Samuel L. Jackson's recent comments, Elizabeth Olsen hints at an appearance at the event this weekend!

A week after Samuel L. Jackson appeared to confirm that Elizabeth Olsen will indeed be playing 'Scarlet Witch' in The Avengers: Age of Ultron, his Oldboy co-star has spoken out about those comments. "Samuel Jackson can say what he likes," the actress grinned when quizzed on the subject during a recent appearance on Friday's Live With Kelly & Michael. When asked if she will be making an appearance at this weekend's New York Comic Con, Olsen replied, "Actually, my brother works for a comic book, so you might. Because I might be visiting his booth." Could it be that we'll FINALLY get confirmation thanks to an appearance from the Godzilla star at one of Marvel's panels this weekend? Either way, several reliable trades have since claimed that Olsen is indeed the frontrunner for the role, so expect for it to be made official sooner rather than later!

It's taken me 10 weeks, but I've finaly made peace with the fact that, despite the changes from the source material, this film could still potentially be most awesome.
I actually came to terms with it all after a lot of heavy thinking, on the day Sam Jackson hinted that Olsen would be Wanda.
I had no idea who the hell these Olsen folks were (still don't, pop stars? "TV Celebs"?), but after a quick Google image search, I became very happy about the fact that this young lady was gonna be portraying Wanda.
It wasn't too long after that I regained my excitement about this franchise.
Not saying that her casting was the reason. But it sure didn't hurt.

The shadow behind her head looks like a penis.

I don't know why I pointed that out.

She's proven herself a good actress already. I'm saving judgment until I see the movie.

She is awesome cute cute cute! The only reason to watch "Oldboy" remake. She will be epic great Scarlet Witch and maybe be even more hot superhero than Johansson's Black Widow #1 nowdays.

What does it mean to "work for a comic book"? I know that people work on them, or in the CB industry, but I've never known someone to work for one. Never mind, I work for comic books at the comic store. So, her brother must work a little bit for A comic book.

Scarlet Witch is one of my favourite characters.
I'll be very happy for her to be played by Elizabeth.
She's a beautiful and very very talented actress.

@Nomis, get over it. That overrated hag is the epitome of fancasting. I'm so tired of her being brought up for every role. Olsen acts rings around MEW.

I just hope Marvel just announces the line up already.

I hope Scarlet Witch uses at least a cape and the head piece, even if its small.

If Magneto used a helmet, same as Loki, and Captain America, Wanda easly CAN too.

So Marvel better deliver.

You can bank on Scarlet Witch wearing red, but I doubt we will see the sexy body suit and head dress...

@ Gusto and Nomis,

You guys are both correct. Elizabeth is on the petite side when compared to the comic book version.

Still...you also have to consider that this particular traditional outfit for the Witch will likely not be used and that a lot of the 'full figure' issues could simply be tricked out.

For example the woman you posted is like most women who dress up for cosplay, using padding and push ups.

Here is her actual anatomy following the breast line from the armpit to the center. The rest is simply padding.

To be quite honest, this could be done with Olsen because her breasts aren't really that far off from this lady in the push-ups but again...it's just an illusion.

It's like with ScarJo.

People erroneously believe she had a breast reduction when in fact she simply amplified her own in that famous red dress.

If you've study anatomy, work with makeup, or simply are familiar with the illusions of tape, pads, and pushups you will always see the actual breast underneath the magic.

I would love to see the twins something like this.
Their Ultimates costumes are more screen-friendly.

@CherryBomb

As I said above your post, she will likely be in something like that as opposed to her traditional outfit which is a bit outdated, and very 'Halloween'.

It also doesn't make sense for her to fight bad guys in stockings, thigh high boots, and a bustier.

Not going to happen.

CherryBomb - 10/11/2013, 2:11 PM
@humperdink

Yeah I totally agree!
I think the Ultimates costume is pretty cool. Simplistic yet realistic.

@Cherrybomb

I've never seen that outfit you posted before but seeing it now I can definitely tell it would fit in with the look of the first Avengers film so easily.

I love how they even kept the read chest piece in her outfit. It's a good homage to the older red bustier.
