At last years Comic Con Mark Ruffalo revealed that he would be playing not only Bruce Banner, but his slightly angrier alter ego The Hulk..
"They're going to do the 'Avatar' stop-action, stop-motion capture. So I'll actually play the Hulk. That'll be fun."
Cool right? But since then we have had a couple of indications that this wasn't going to be the case. First of all we had a tweet from another actor saying that HE had auditioned for the role of The Hulk himself. Not exactly smashing Ruffalo's claim to pieces I know, but interesting nonetheless.
Now we have this recent interview with Ruffalo. In it he is asked what he has coming up and replies that he is filming The Avengers in May and that he will play Bruce Banner/The Hulk. The interviewer asks if it will be another actor playing the Hulk and Ruffalo responds by saying..
"This will be the first time an actor will actually play the Hulk. We're doing motion capture like they did with Avatar". Here is the vid. Skip to 5.35 for Ruffalo's (jokey) delivery of Banner's famous line and the above quote..

Notice he says "an actor" and not "I". Of course this still isn't proof that Marvel and Joss Whedon have decided to get someone else in for the green goliath, but it certainly raises the question...again!
