@grif, lol optimistic i see!
I would hope they put in as much as possible, i understand things need to be cut out, but they better not have cut out scenes that could have made the movie better in favor of ones that could make it worse. I haven't seen it though, so i will wait until the midnight premier to judge it. Can't Wait!

I'll watch the fanedit.org cut when the deleted scenes are added in.

By the way, that site has some awesome Star War prequels that have been edited which makes them more palatable to watch. Still not perfect but at least not painful to watch anymore.

I hope they allow us to add the scenes in by (branching), if we prefer. When you have too many explosions and action, you need to let it breath, so to speak. The scenes with Steve look good, would be nice if he was doing some research as to what happened to Peggy (Atwell)

"at least 30"

I let out an embarrassing fanboy squeal of delight.

I know he said no director's cut, but maybe if there's enough interest, they'll do it.

@valeriesghost: Even if there isn't a 'director's cut' there can still be an 'extended edition'. I mean, director's cut just means what the director wanted and extended edition just means that the movie might make more sense or be more enjoyable. Something THIS BIG should get an extended edition.

they'll produce a directors cut for the money ...
and they should cuz I WOULD PAY FOR IT

I hate watching deleted scenes...

The best Deleted scenes ever on DVD are the X-Files ones which give you the option to insert them before you watch each episode or to watch them without...

I cannot believe that no one else has ever done this in the DVD world...

Talk about new technology NOT being used...

I got the Director's Cut of Tombstone and it does help add a little bit to the story.

l0rdleg0las - 4/15/2012, 10:37 PM
Marvel should be smart about this. they should realize that just about every single MCU fan will go out and buy a Director's cut of the movie with extra footage even at a higher cost than a theatrical cut. not only that, but if they really wanted to price gouge fans, release a theatrical bare bones version in October after the film has completed its run in theaters and then come holiday season release the Director's Cut loaded with special features.

bhorwith22 - 4/15/2012, 11:48 PM
@grif If that doesn't happen, expect a fan edit. If there is not ffan edit, maybe I will even make one myself. That is, if the deleted scenes are not retarded workprints.

for me it all depends on whether the deleted scenes DESERVE to be DELETED, or they could've made the finished movie THAT much of an even better movie.

i.e., i like both the extended versions of both Fellowship and Two Towers, but, with the Return of the King, it's got some of UNNECESSARY scenes gettin' sown back into the theatrical version. i still think, though, that face off scene between Gandalf and the Witch King and his nazgul SHOULD have been kept in the theatrical version.
