On Marvel's Past Involvement With Movies Like X-Men And Spider-Man:

"We were very involved in the early films...and as we made more of those films, we got a lot of experience. We got exposed to the top executives, top producers. It was an amazing learning experience."

On How They Keep The Fans Happy:

"The secret is to just look at the source material. The spirit of each character and story line are there for you...You don't get legions of fans by not producing amazingly rich stuff."

On How They Not Only Make Movies For The Fans, But A Wider Audience As Well:

"Marvel has changed the definition of the comic movie genre -- so that people can look at it differently, as a genre onto itself. We continue to expand the definition of a comic book movie. People still say comic books aren't for me, but they now look at Marvel movie as a summer blockbuster -- they know it's safe, even if they haven't read the comic books."

On The Getting Things Right In 2011 And Beyond:

"The expectation any film is always high. These characters are extremely popular, especially dealing with "Thor" and "Captain America," characters that people have cared about for almost 70 years. No matter what the movie is, there's a tremendous amount of pressure. You often get one chance to debut a character to fans and to the majority of people who might not have heard of the hero."

DID THEY HONESTLY THINK 1 FAN WOULD BE HAPPY ABOUT DEADPOOL LOOKING LIKE AN ALIEN IN WOLVERINE ??????
GUNSMITH
GUNSMITH - 1/3/2011, 12:13 PM
DEADPOOL IN ORIGINS, THE ULTIMATE FANSLAP..FANSLAP verb-TO PURPOSELY CHANGE A FAN-LOVED CHARACTER OR IDEAS FROM PERFECTLY GOOD SOURCE MATERIAL.

"HEY LETS NOT HAVE HIM WEAR THE DEADPOOL MASK, LETS MAKE HIS REAL FACE LOOK LIKE THE MASK, AND LETS NOT HAVE HIM CARRY THE SWORD, HEY WOLVERING HAS EM POP OUT MAKE EM POP OUT OF HIS ARMS, HECK GIVE HIM ALL KINDS OF POWERS, FANS WILL LOVE THAT." SAID FOX.

intruder@ as good as that sounds the reality is that even if they are stuck in pre-production with the bigger movies, when it gets close to the point where the rights would revert back to marvel fox has already made statements that they would make a straight to DVD quick movie put it in a couple theaters for a couple weeks and they would be covered so they can hold on to the rights, if it ever comes to that. it would be nice but i don't see marvel ever getting them back :(
Brashlight
Brashlight - 1/3/2011, 12:30 PM
Intruder@ Yeah, I know that. but it may be some fanboy but if push comes to shove and it is getting close to the deadline which i believe is 10 years ( so highly unlikely) they will do something along those lines. that is just the fox way of doing things.
Brashlight
Brashlight - 1/3/2011, 12:38 PM
Intruder@ I am not going to lie I think Disney buying Marvel is HUGE! However, I think if fox is put into a corner they will do some pretty shady and crappy things to maintain those rights. We will see, when it comes to fox I tend to be a pessimist.

@DEATHMETALBRIAN your right but like @gunsmith said that was a big slap in the face to change it that much i was like actually mad if you had the movie on mute or didnt hear the guy say his name you would never know that was deadpool ..i think thats why its takin so long to make a a deadpool movie because they #1 wanna let the dust settle and have people forget that horrible wolverine ending and #2 they wanna explian somehow wtf happend they been scratchin there heads for all this time ..

if they do somehow spin-off the deadpool movie they need to go off the end credit scene when his eyes open (i dunno how it they would make it work) but when he opens his eyes somhow pop his head back on lol take a razor blade cut his mouth open throw a mask on and just forget the whole thing happend and make a killer movie ...

The bad part is we are so close to Fox and Sony realizing how to properly make a comic movie that they are going to start hitting decent shots soon. Granted they wont be homeruns. I have a feeling the Spidey reboot will do well...maybe even Fist Ass but the jury is def still out on that one.
SuperSpiderMan5778
SuperSpiderMan5778 - 1/3/2011, 1:42 PM
u wanna make the fans happy??? stop being creative and making idiotic mistakes like, Barakapool, recast of Bruce Banner, recast of James Rhodes, the first Hulk movie, Daredevil (a black Kingpin? WTF?), X-Men TLS (or just never let Brett Fagner direct a CBM), and of course our personal favorite Spider-Man 3...get your sh!t together Kevin!!!!
InSpace
InSpace - 1/3/2011, 1:53 PM
Guys as long as Fox or Sony takes an extremely long time to develop one of their films they will go back to Marvel thats what it says in their contract. Thats what happened to Blade and Punisher, and probably DareDevil
InSpace
InSpace - 1/3/2011, 1:56 PM
SuperSpiderman@Most of that wasn't Marvels fault tho they're the writers and directors. But Marvel did recast Banner and Rhodes because the Actors we're being whiny little bitches who wanted too much money for an independent movie distributor, and they did it in the best way possible by casting better actors; in my opinion.
InSpace
InSpace - 1/3/2011, 9:10 PM
cal@ Uh dude they have changed the genre, were else have you ever heard of a film studio combining several of their films to make one big crossover.
Coldblood6
Coldblood6 - 1/4/2011, 10:22 AM
Christopher Nolan didn't do squat for CBM's because TDK does not exist in a comic book universe. It exists in a lame overrated realistic world. One where batman leaps out of a building and just falls rather use a swinging grappling hook like the Batman of a CB universe.

The realistic tone seen in iron man and other marvel movies is completely different. The characters are more fleshed out and real. The stories are integrated into real world scenarios. But the universe is still a comic book universe. Marvel movies make you feel as if the fantastic scenes you see in a comic are virtually ripped off the page and onto the big screen.
