Ahead of next month's annual Toy Fair in New York, The Wall Street Journal has just revealed a new S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier set from LEGO in anticipation of Avengers: Age of Ultron. While it's noted this particular set is not tied to the upcoming Marvel sequel, it appears to include minifigures of Hawkeye, Maria Hill, Captain America, Nick Fury, and Black Widow while clearly in their suits from Avengers: Age of Ultron. Anyhow, LEGO reveals "the set features two runways, microscale Quinjets, fighter jets and ground support vehicles. It includes five minifigures — Nick Fury, Black Widow, Captain America, Hawkeye and, new for Spring 2015, Maria Hill." Standing over 11 inches high, 31 inches long and 17 inches wide, "The Helicarrier also comes with 12 microfigures to scatter around the carrier’s enormous deck and interior, while the microfigures are Nick Fury, Hawkeye, Captain America, Iron Man and eight S.H.I.E.L.D. agents." Check out the images below, and expect the Toy Fair to offer a closer look at the set which will go on sale in March, for $349.99!

Marvel Studios presents Avengers: Age of Ultron, the epic follow-up to the biggest Super Hero movie of all time. When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to the Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure. Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Robert Downey Jr., who returns as Iron Man, along with Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk. Together with Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and with the additional support of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill, the team must reassemble to defeat James Spader as Ultron, a terrifying technological villain hell-bent on human extinction. Along the way, they confront two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Wanda Maximoff, played by Elizabeth Olsen, and Pietro Maximoff, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and meet an old friend in a new form when Paul Bettany becomes Vision. Written and directed by Joss Whedon and produced by Kevin Feige, Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series “The Avengers,” published in 1963. Get set for an action-packed thrill ride when The Avengers return in Avengers: Age of Ultron May 1, 2015.

I have a mighty need. SDCC will make me poor again. Holy [frick]ing shit, it's exactly the "cast" that we wanted in a SHIELD themed movie and got IronMan5umImeanCap3 instead. Well, at least we get a Lego set.

From the video and the box art itself, it doesn't appear that this is an AOU toy, but rather a "generic" Avengers set. The presenter mentions that the design is based on the MCU version of the helicarrier, but it's not a movie tie-in from what I can tell. It's probably not an indication that we'll see one in the film.

Regardless, it's still an awesome set!

The spinning engines are pretty darn cool. I wonder if they'll ever build an even bigger model that's roughly to scale with the typical character figures.

Im glad im many a years past interested in legos. That thing is awesome but good lord the price.... All that for plastic?

That micro scale does not warrant a $350 price tag. That not cool man! The only good thing about this set is the SHIELD stand with the minifigures. Anything LEGO micro scale does not build up value, but I bet some of the exclusive minifigures will go up in value anywhere form $20 to $30 even in the first days it comes out!

I dig the fact that it also includes mini minifigures, not just the actual minifigures.

$350 for that? Come'on Lego, bring back the real "giant" lego sets. That thing is crap. It doesn't even hold actual size Lego figures. $350 should get you something three times that size.

If only the games had regular cartoon models instead of LEGOs, they would've been great.

Lego Marvel was cool. But the Lego games have been played out too long. Give me and actual game, from the developers that made Captain America: Super Soldier. Or Ubisoft. I don't care. Just give me a real [frick]ing game.

That's freaking incredible.
I guess I'll quit drinking in March to save up for this.
$350 is not that crazy. LEGO sets go for about $1 every 10 pieces, so with nearly 3,000 pieces it should be $300. It's only $50 extra for being a collectors/IP item.

Cool but it might be the 1st Marvel Lego set that I have to pass on, both for price and storage reasons. Unfortunately, I really do want Maria Hill so hopefully they'll release her somewhere else.

Also, I'd still like an AoS set... we need Coulson, damn it!
SpoonySpoon

Damn. My mind knows I'll build it then probably stick it on a shelf and never play with it, but the kid inside me wants it so damn bad!
