Morena Baccarin appeared at the Women in Sci-Fi themed Sci-Fi Expo in Dallas, Texas this past weekend. It was inevitable that the possibility of her being cast as Janet Van Dyne in Joss Whedons The Avengers come up during a Q & A session.

“Is there a chance? Yeah, cuz I would do it! I don’t know, I mean I should talk to Joss about that.”

“I would love to [be cast in The Avengers]. I should write him an email and be like “Dude, put me in that $hit."

Over the last few days it has been reported that Baccarin is heavily rumored to be on "the short list" for an undisclosed part in the film.

Baccarin is alright, but Smulders is better. Whedon will cast the woman he wanted as Wonder Woman...I'd bet anything on it.

She is Maria Hill, Shes perfect and has experience from V -

Anna is a mega bitch - So Is Hill
Shes Head of the V Ship - Hill is on the Hellicarrier, just like the v ship

shes to tall to play wasp shes like 5'8 were as wasp is 5'4, wouldn't look right standing next to RDJ who also is the same height

You would not see me complaining if she gets cast as Wasp. However, I think she's perfect for Maria Hill and it would be more worth her while to play that role. Let's face it, Wasp has always been kind of a lame character in the comics and is pretty unimportant in the Marvel Universe. Maria Hill would be a more respectable role for someone like Morena Baccarin.

Did the interviewer specifically say Wasp? 'Cause this sounds like confirmation to me. I mean, it's not confirmation, but you can tell she knows that she's definately in the film.
Now we may as well take this as news that's she is in The Avengers, which is great, but if he/she asked her if she was playing Wasp, then that means Wasp is in The Avengers. This is even bigger news. If Ant-Man is not in The Avengers, then it is essential that The Wasp is.
