In Captain America: The First Avenger, we saw Chris Evans' Steve Rogers go from wearing a USO version of the classic costume to his own makeshift version, and finally the outfit he designed himself alongside Howard Stark. We all knew that Cap would be getting a make-over for The Avengers, and have since seen a brief glimpse of it after the credits of The First Avenger and in a promotional poster unveiled at Comic-Con. (where the actual suit was also on display) Last week however, we got to see the super soldier in action wearing the full costume, and so I asked you guys what you think of his new look, especially after the mixed reactions in the articles where the various set photos and videos have been posted. Here are the results in full...

STARRING:

Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America
Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man
Chris Hemsworth as Thor
Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye
Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Ramanoff/Black Widow
Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk
Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury
Tom Hiddleston as Loki

RELEASE DATE: May 4th, 2012. (US)

Can't please everyone. I didn't vote, but I think it's excellent.

dont know how they could have improved it in any other way. i'm so, so glad they got rid off the horrible bulky look from the first movie (it was ok since it was early stages and in the 40s). actually i think they should have had it way more vintage in the first movie, so the contrast would have been bigger. but whatever. its cool.

This is exactly how Cap is supposed to look like but because everything that has leaked from the Avengers has been perfect some fanboys have to nit pick on the small things like the size of Cap's helmet.

I just realized that the poster that came out a while back showed Cap's ears through the helmet, now they covered them up. Weird.

Anywaym they did the best they could and I think it's good. I imagine the action will be a little distracting in the actual movie so who cares what shade of blue the suit is, really.

Helmet looks goofy. I'm assuming the screen tests have shown something we're not seeing here. Still wish they had cut the ears out like on the first teaser poster.

Suit looks badass, but makes him look skinny, again, something they can fix with angles and post-production. Bevel star looks kinda cheesy though, like something that can off of a Dallas Cowboys fan jersey.

Suit is cool. Something about the mask rubs me wrong personally, but I'll bet it looks awesome in the movie.

@marvel72: I'm like Batman & Superman & Lantern, etc, etc from DC... Don't know if that makes me a "DC Fanboy" but Cap's suit is much better than Bane's or Catwoman's.
