According to "mclay18" over on the
SuperHeroHype Forums, it looks as if
Captain America: The First Avenger composer Alan Silvestri has also been hired by Marvel Studios to work on the score for
The Avengers. Unfortunately, I don't have access to either FSM Online or Sandra Silvestri's Facebook page (I'm working on it!) so you'll have to take this news with a pinch of salt for time being.
I think a lot of you can rest easily. The latest issue of FSM Online (which is reliable) says that Alan Silvestri (Captain America) will score The Avengers. I don't have a subscription to FSM Online, but I think Silvestri's wife also leaked the news too on her FB page.
If true, I'm pleased with this news. While it may not seem like a good idea to hire a composer who has previously worked on one of
The Avengers' characters solo films, his score for
Captain America: The First Avenger was fantastic in my opinion and I'm very excited to see what he might bring to the table for the 2012 superhero team-up. Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place.
