According to Csicon, actor Samuel L. Jackson appeared on last night's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live where he supposedly revealed huge goodies regarding his Nick Fury roll in The Avengers, Captain America, and THOR.

"We learned two interesting things, first and foremost of which was the fact that he is about to start screen testing with a number of actresses. One of them will be chosen to play the part of his “Female Sidekick” in The Avengers. be anybody – or even a new character created for this part.

Jackson also let it slip that he’s been asked to film a couple of scenes for both Thor and Captain America. Considering the timing of Captain America, at least, I’m guessing this will be in a small button scene after the credits have rolled by."


If true, a video should be available today, until then take this with a grain of salt. But what do you think?

maria hill possibly maybe not she didn't exactly get along with Fury that well, well makes sense for him to turn up at the end of captain america since its meant to finish with him being discovered

@DeanVanHalen-- based on what little Jackson said, it's probably similar to his role in the first Iron Man, and he just pops up post-credits to intro Thor into the Avengers (though, those of us who totally didn't read the script, might be wondering how Fury finds Thor now that he's effectively trapped in Asgard...) << Highlight the text to read what's vaguely spoilery...

By "Female sidekick" he probably means Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.
But of course none of you clowns would have ever heard of her, but back in the day she was a SHIELD agent and Nick Fury's love interest.

They might just make Sharon Carter his sidekick, considering Peggy was[is gonna be] her aunt in Captain America. I could roll with that. :)

It will also hint on a romance between Cap and Carter, so I'd say they'll kinda promote Carter in the movie

@Juggernaut-- I'd say there's about a 60/40 chance they don't use Valentina, since she's an obscure character, although they might go with the HYDRA version of her character, but hey-- Jasper Sitwell's in Thor, so I guess anything's possible...

Yeah, I remember her!

There are three possibilities IMHO:

1) Valentina Allegra de Fontaine - I think this is the least likely as the character is not well known nowadays. They would choose her if they are trying to appease older comic book fans.

2) Maria Hill - I think this is second most likely. This brings in more contemporary fans especially fans of the EMH cartoon, but the character really does not have much potential for anything further.

3) Carol Danvers - This I think is the most likely choice, setting up the creation of Ms. Marvel/Warbird for future films.

PS - For those who know the character what do you think of Eva Mendes to play Valentina Allegra de Fontaine?

way to be an asshole, lol. first of all, Valentina has been in comics more recently over the past few years. Secret Invasion especially, so don't act like you somehow have all this comic knowledge and everyone around here are a bunch of morons. Especially if you obviously didn't know that.

I know what you mean, a lot of people on this site have very limited knowledge of comics, but we're not all like that.

Maybe it's the leader of the Secret Warriors. I can't remember her name offhand, but she would fit the bill as a 'female sidekick.' Daisy, I think her name is?

I kind of expected some connection with him in Thor since that scene at the end of Iron Man II. I have a feeling it will be Maria Hill in the Avengers.

jovavich should have been black widow. but yes Marie Hill shoudl be in the Avengers hopefully.

And i think Sam Jackson's scene for the Cap movie will be during the present day book ends.
