During last week's San Diego Comic-Con convention, actor Clark Gregg, whose known as 'S.H.I.E.L.D Agent Phil Coulson' in Iron Man and soon The Avengers, made an appearance and held a signing at Marvel's booth. With a huge stage presence, the actor also brought a preview of his 2 short films, one-shots, that'll be available on Thor's DVD/Blu-ray September release. And now an attendee, who managed to record the signing and one-shots, has posted it online.

What's interesting about these "one-shots" is that they seem to fill gaps in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that would seem out of place in the feature films. In case you're lost, one of the one-shots depicted Coulson and Agent Sitwell discussing making an offer to General Thunderbolt Ross, from The Incredible Hulk, and who they were going to send to annoy him enough to decline the offer. And this scene will most likely lead to The Incredible Hulk's closing scene with Ross, and Tony Stark as the consultant. And you may remember, near the ending of Iron Man 2, Nick Fury referred to Stark as a "consultant." What do you think?

Marvel's The Avengers picks up when an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security. And Nick Fury, director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. With director Joss Whedon at it's helm, and an ensemble cast including Chris Evans (Steve Rogers), Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark), Chris Hemsworth (Thor Odinson), Jeremy Renner (Clint Barton), Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner), Scarlett Johansson (Natasha Romanoff), Clark Gregg (Agt. Phil Coulson), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), with Tom Hiddleston (Loki Laufeyson), and Stellan Skarsgard (Professor Erik Selvig), the film releases worldwide May 4, 2012!

Stark was hired as a "consultant" at the end of Iron Man 2. Stark is then seen talking to Ross about "putting together a team" at the end of Incredible Hulk.

It's quite obvious that Stark is the Consultant.

Cool stuff. The whole Agent Coulson character has become an awesome break-out character. I was a bit surprised they didn't include him in "Captain America: First Avenger".

@JohnnyBrown06

Why do people assume that Marvel is just trying to ignore the Incredible Hulk? Yeah.... that totally seems to be the case. I mean, the fact that TIH was included in a Thor TV spot doesn't mean shit. Or the fact that TIH was included in the SHIELD data vault ALONG with pics of Edward Norton as Bruce Banner. OR the fact that TIH was referenced in both Iron Man 2 AND Thor.

/end sarcasm

All Marvel did is recast the part of Bruce Banner. The Incredible Hulk film is STILL part of the MCU canon.

@indoraptor12 I'm having a hard time hearing what they're saying, but Sitwell said......"General Ross will refuse to release Emil Blonsky (Abomination)"

I was hoping the offer would be to stop chasing Banner, and allow SHIELD to fully handle things (Avengers recruitment)

Hulks difficult, you don't think hero when you see him. The Avengers will hopefully define him. I'm looking forward to these shorts though.

Rosss is desperate to get Banner because he is desperate to get the 'data' he represents.

It would take alot for him to relinquish that desire and stop hunting him. Somewhat like Ahab vs. The Whale. Although by the end of TIH he did let him go as his character began to change.

Even so, to let SHIELD take over the hunt would be a big deal for him so I think the consultant short is all gear towards that.
