What I would do for a solo Black Panther movie, post Avengers 2

Rumors of Cape Town, South Africa being a possible shooting place for Avengers 2 and a possible Wakanda. This is what I would do for a debut, Black Panther movie in Phase Three.

Editorial Opinion

It's 4:30 in the morning here in Northeast, Ohio as I write this. I do have a tendency of having a lack of sleep. Therefore, onto the editorial. As with many users on this site, I got excited when Cape Town, South Africa was revealed as a possible shooting place for Avengers 2 or whatever they choose to call it. The reason why. Cape Town, South Africa would be a possible Wakanda. Speaking of which, I had an idea of an infinity gem being in Wakanda for a reason for The Avengers to go there and begin a long search into Avengers 3 for the Infinity Gems. But, that's for another time. Black Panther is one of the most anticipated solo movies for fans of comicbooks and Marvel Comics. So, what I would do if I were working on a Black Panther movie? For starters, what could be influences?

The following are influences I would think is best for a, Black Panther movie. Gladiator: The reason for Gladiator would be because of the character development and while it does have its moments of action, It really works because of the time we spend with the characters and their journey. Black Panther would really benefit from this kind of development for its characters. Limitless: Why Limitless? Well, it's a thriller (anyone get Michael Jackson playing in their head now? Cause I have it in my head now) and as thrillers are suppose to do, it keeps you on the edge of your seat and brings a sort of intensity. Black Panther requires an intense thriller type of take on the material to really succeed as a movie. Warrior: Why Warrior? Well, who says a comicbook movie can't have good drama? I love The Dark Knight trilogy but it never sold me on the drama for the most part. Warrior has the intensity and the drama. I would want, Black Panther to have a strong drama feel to the movie and its characters. This is why I personally would want, Gavin O'Connor to write the movie. He's got a strong sense of character and the way he wrote Tommy and Brendan and their relationship was great. The way he handled the drama was great and I would want that from a Black Panther movie.

Who's the Black Panther?

Fans have always had their picks for who should play the character. They tend to be veteran actors with a deep voice and good physicality, which is the ideal way to take the character. Why not an up and coming actor who can act and bring the character to life and do him justice, he could build for the part. I'm not saying the fans' choices are bad but, I would stick to the best guy for the role as well as a lean physicality where you would still believe he can kick ass. My choice?

Okay so, some of if not most of you saw this one coming. Well, can you blame me? Chadwick Boseman is a strong, young actor who would be a fine pick in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He would also in general make an awesome T'Challa and a great Black Panther. Here's what I say about this. Give him a chance. No one really knew who Chris Hemsworth was and now look at him. Don't go for the more well known actors, take a chance. I think, Boseman would be the best pick for the character. Plus, who wouldn't want to see Boseman possibly go head to head with Chris Evans? That would be an awesome fight.

Villain?

The villain? No, the main villain would NOT be, Ulysses Klaw. I would have it instead be, White Wolf. I just think that, Ulysses Klaw should be the very last villain of a Black Panther trilogy. White Wolf, I think would be a best fit for a villain in the first movie due to the dramatic tension and intensity between the two characters. Between the loss of, T'Chaka and T'Challa exiling White Wolf, I think it would be best for dramatic and character purposes.

Origin? Not necessarily.

This is post-Avengers 2 therefore, an origin story would not be necessary. Flashbacks of T'Chaka's death and the origin of Black Panther. Then everything after would be just his quest in search for Ulysses Klaw. Origin is out of the way, bam! Now, we can focus on character and the plot of the story. By no means would this ever be the longest of the Marvel films but, I think it would be within the length of Thor or The Incredible Hulk. White Wolf will take his revenge after being exiled by the, Black Panther for recurrent torture and assassinations. Black Panther would be in for the fight of his life as he defends the city of, Wakanda and his fathers legacy. This would be in my opinion, great for his debut film.

What do you think? Comment below and be civil. Respect amongst yourselves would be good too.

No masters of evil, please... I like ultron, however! No reason why ultron wouldn't attack Wakands for the vibranium...

Also Black panther needs to be heavily revamped and retconned to work in the Marvel cinematic universe

They are going to film in England too. Doesn't mean we'll get Captain Britain, Excalibur or Black Knight!

We're not going to get a Black Panther movie just as much as we wont get a female superhero movie from Marvel (not this decade at least)!
I'd love to be wrong, but they have no interest at all in making it happen.

Places in northern Africa don't look like Cape Town. Why didn't they shoot Dredd in northern Africa? Because Cape Town has a very specific look that can pass for certain settings. Wakanda isn't one of them.

I'm not saying Black Panther won't be in Avengers 2, but this isn't evidence of it.

@alexanderlikins - ant-man Is not needed at all. Thanos, etc could infect jarvis... Simple as that...

I'm sure everyone gets it. There's a possibility of Wakanda being, Cape Town. Can we accept the possibility.

Severely remote possibility. I know you guys are really excited about Black Panther, and apparently the whole continent looks the same in your imagination...but even if you haven't seen Cape Town in person, or pictures, just look at the films that have been shot there. It has a specific look that film makers use it for.

Alexanderlykins - i agree with that, but i don't want to wait for ant-man to be introduced before we get ultron in avengers 2. I REALLY don't want Masters of evil. The supervillains making a group is cool in the comics, but in the movies its just rehashing/reusing the villains that we've already seen defeated...

A lot of the character and it's concepts needs to be changed and revamped, it would probablly even benefit the character more. Also why does the character only have to be popular with one demographic/audience, why cant the character be popular and huge with all audiences.

Also just because Cape town is in Africa it doesn't mean that it's Wakanda. Wakanda isn't based on any real life city. Cape town is also a westernised city, something that Wakanda isn't in the comics. It doesn't represent northern Africa which is where the Wakandans are based. If Wakanda is ever seen on screen it wont look like cape town and will most likely be computer generated like Asgard.

If cap and thor sequals don't perform better at the box office than their predecessors, we will probably get 2 avengers movies in a row...
