Everyone should be quite familiar with the heartwarming tale of Miles Scott, but if by chance you've been living under a rock for the past month here is the quick recap. Miles, a young leukemia survivor, expressed to the Make-A-Wish foundation that he would like to become a superhero. And not just any superhero, but his favorite - Batman. With help from the good people of San Francisco, Make-A-Wish was able to make Miles dream come true. Over 7,000 people turned out to watch and celebrate Miles, as he played Batkid for a day. And today, Miles was on GMA rescuing Pitbull from The Joker.

This is a nice story, but I feel bad about all of the other sick kids who will never get to do anything like this.

It is really sad that they would give this kid a CHEAP BATMAN, the suit looks horrible and it is sad they didn't try to get Christian Bale or someone who actually looked like Batman, this guy looked horrible!

Okay I guess I'll break my silence... This happened long before Batkid... No attention was paid, which is fine, cuz I'm sure this wasn't for the attention, but Batkid wasn't first, and now this raises the question, what will we say to each kid that wants something this big to happen? This cost San Francisco over $100,000 to do.

OK, I'm gonna be the guy to pooh pooh on this. First of all, I've heard the kid is in remission... if true, he's cancer free as of now, and we all hope he stays that way, but was cancer free before the wish was granted, I've also read. Fine they granted his wish, just be honest about it, if it's true. (Don't start bitching to me about being a cold hearted bastard ( I am ), my sister and father in law died from it.) So I'm not impressed by these phony baloney news shows using this kid in this way. Make A Wish shouldn't be either. The depression this kid is going to experience when they stop paying attention to him is going to have a detrimental effect on his health. Kids aren't toys, people shouldn't use them as such.
And if Pitbull is being held hostage by the Joker, I'm taking up a collection for the Joker to keep him.

Not to detract from this because the story is really wonderful and heartwarming but It really bugs me that after all this time mainstream media still defaults to the 60's Adam West theme when doing these types of stories. It comes off as silly and trivial when they still relate Batman to the 60's TV with the "Pow" Bam" stuff. I know I'm being nitpicky but i always feel undermined as a fanboy when i see this. How many Batman related movies and cartoons has it been since then? Does your viewership even remember that show, GMA??

I think the majority of Good Morning America viewers can't remember what they had for breakfast and freak out when they report on the president and show footage of colored man.

I agree with another's earlier comment.
You can't tell me parents of other sick kids are annoyed that this kid is getting the exposure he is. No one hates on the boy but it's sad other children get nothing close to this.
marantaz
marantaz - 11/25/2013, 12:49 PM
Rogmel, that's what I figured... Make A Wish is kind of a hit or miss proposition... they don't grant a wish too soon, cuz the kid might not be that ill and others should come first, but waiting too long could be too late, so, as in this kids case, he could have died before they got his wish granted. He lives, and hopefully stays healthy, but then, that kind of negates the need to fulfill his wish, though I see no reason not to do it myself. After that, let the kid live as normal a life as possible. Life is the greatest gift, after all.
